It is word which we don’t hear too much of nowadays: “dotard.” The ever-slim-faced Kim Jong-un called President Donald Trump a “deranged dotard,” for his UN speech and a new grab bag of sanctions. Oh, wait…before I go on, being a dotard myself, I forgot to define my terms: it means old and frail, senile decay, and particularly mentally:

     Well nothing to get upset abut here, because we all go down that route, or die, or die before we get to know the joys of dotage, just bobbing along in the great ocean of life, and not worrying about the hard knocks of existence any more.      I don’t normally like any of the journalism of Caroline Overington, but she did a great piece, “Exorbitant Energy Bills Can be A Death Sentence If You’re Old and Short of Cash,” The Weekend Australian, September 23-24, 2017, p. 17.

     The point made is that rising energy bills, something that will be talked about at the League National Weekend, 14 and 15 October, 2017, threaten the vulnerable who cannot afford sky high energy bills, and many will die. Winter can be harsh, but it is always possible to struggle through using plenty of warm clothes. But, hot summers are a killer, and a real danger. The heat can offer seemingly no escape.

Yes, one has to go to overseas sites to get any critical news, that is just how bad it is. One poll has 58.4 percent supporting gay marriage, but the numbers are falling, and can be made to fall more, if people stop sitting on their hands and get out there.

     Former Prime Minister John Howard, who will be remembered for his massive support of Asian immigration to Australia, has said that the legalisation of gay marriage will have substantial impacts on a range of issues, such as free speech and religion: The Weekend Australian, September 9-10, 2017.      Most of us men here are at that time of life when the prostate causes problems, even on a good day. Now the libertarian Cato Institute has claimed in a Tweet that “Islamic teachings are consistent [with] many libertarian principles, such as tolerance, property rights & individualism.” They also praised Ibn Khaldūn (1332-1406) as a libertarian hero, describing him as “the most consistent of the many free-market economists in Islamic history,” even though Khaldūn promoted slavery:

     The data is based on AYI use, which is the largest Facebook dating app, having over 70 million users. While most men preferred Asian women, Asian men did not, and it is claimed that men from all racial groups preferred women from races other than their own. This, of course, contradicts the claim that most men prefer Asian women, explicitly.

     The papers have oodles of material about Lionel Murphy, based on documents which have just been released. The High Court judge, and former Whitlam government attorney-general, was looking to be the first Australian High Court judge to be forcibly removed from office.

     The allegations were extensive beyond even the charges of perverting the course of justice, from which he was acquitted, and include associations with a crime boss, receiving “sexual favours from women” i.e. prostitutes, supplied by the criminal connection, being a silent partner in an illegal brothel,  and so on. It would easily have been enough to sink him, but Murphy got lucky and begun to die from cancer, so the inquiry was called off in August 1986: The Australian, September 15, 2017, p. 1.

     The threat of same sex marriage, and the assault upon traditional institutions is arising at a time when Christianity is in rapid decline in the West. This issue has been commented upon before at this site, but there is more bad news, that you need to hear.

     The protections are similar to those already enacted in various state jurisdictions around Australia but do not currently exist at a Commonwealth level.
The laws, to be rushed through both chambers of Parliament by Thursday night, will apply to “conduct” during the campaign, which could include advertising, leaflet materials or behaviour.

To hear our Representatives trying to justify support for this issue whilst other important issues hurting their constituents are of little moment for them as they bicker and squabble among themselves worse than little children.
It is ‘adversarial politics’  at its worst as they try and confuse voters in their grab for Power. It is a very good reason to place the ‘sitting Member’ last next time you are required to vote.
In the meantime, voting negative in the plebiscite might keep the nasty wolf at bay a little longer.
