Letter to The Editor - The power of big money over policy also needs brave attention

To The Australian        Paul Kelly's review of David Kemp's new history of Australia reads like a sensible endorsement of a sensible study ("Brave new world: our story inspired by liberalism", 14/11). As usual, however, Kelly rather under-emphasizes the importance of conservatism in the present time. An argument can be put that by its nature liberalism tends to erode and needs regularly to be brought back to wisdom by conservatives. That erosion can be observed in the Liberal Party itself: there has been a falling away towards radicalism, leading to a dangerous split that damages the party's capacity to retain power. The most important tasks for conservatives now are to safeguard our monarchical political structure, to protect and enhance intellectual freedom and to foster honest public dialogue about matters involving ethnic and religious conflict. "Things will have to change in order to remain the same," was the wise observation of Giuseppe di Lampedusa in his great novel The Leopard. What conservatives must not do is bow to political and religious correctness, for there are important trends in our cultural life that need to be challenged and substantially revised. The power of big money over policy also needs brave attention.

Porn on the Brain By Mrs Vera West

One of the sad aspects of the feminist breakdown of normal relationships, which once kept sex in marriage, is that many young men turn to porn, as it is now just too hard to deal with hyper-feminist girls. However, there is a large amount of research showing that porn has destructive impact upon the brain, as this very good article mentions in passing:
  https://www.counter-currents.com/2018/11/chuck-palahniuks-choke/#more-87439

“Sex addiction, as the narrator explains, is much like drug addiction. Orgasms release endorphins, which, much like the morphine for which they are named, serve to kill both physical and emotional pain. This can be very desirable for those with unhappy lives like Victor’s, and can cause a dependence which is difficult to break. A great deal of research has resulted in evidence that sex or pornography addiction is connected with changes in brain function and structure in a similar way to other addictions. Chronic porn use  may alter areas of the brain, including the prefrontal cortex, which is the area responsible for conscious decision-making, self-restraint, and concern for consequences. It is arguably what separates man from beast, as this area makes up much more of the human brain than that of any other animal.

Making Conservative White Women, Oh So Guilty By Chris Knight

Here is yet another spin in the cultural wars; making white women feel guilty for following Trump. No stone must be left unturned:
  https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2018/11/11/guardian-white-women-who-vote-republican-embrace-racist-sadism/

“Trump supporters are not only deplorable, they also exhibit a “peevish, racist cruelty,” declares the Guardian newspaper Friday, which makes white women who vote Republican especially guilty. The 53 percent of white women who voted for Trump in 2016 bear out “the conventional wisdom that white women would rather choose the racism espoused by the Republican party than join in the moral coalition represented by men of color and other women,” writes Guardian columnist Moira Donegan in an over-the-top essay. While white men “support Republicans at alarming rates,” she states, white women should know better since they are themselves victims of sexism.’

Diversity Working Just Fine; Melbourne Terror Attack By Peter West

By now everybody has heard the report of a Somali-born terrorist, who stabbed three shoppers in Bourke street Melbourne, and was then shot to death by police. ISIS has claimed him as one of their boys, so that looks pretty much like a clear-cut case of terrorism. Well, one would have thought so.

Does the Pope Therefore Love Terrorists? By Peter West

Another day; more nonsense from the Third World communist Pope. He has recently said that the Commandment to love one’s neighbour “is not about pre-selecting my neighbor. This isn’t Christian.” Of course, he had migrants in mind, when are migrants never not in mind. Anyway, Robert Spencer has given a better refutation of this that I could give:
  https://www.jihadwatch.org/2018/11/pope-commandment-to-love-ones-neighbor-is-not-about-pre-selecting-my-neighbor-this-isnt-christian

“Pope Francis appears to be demanding that Christians welcome criminals, invaders, and Sharia supremacists into their nations, or else he will declare them un-Christian. He seems to be completely unconcerned about facts such as the following: all of the jihadis who murdered 130 people in Paris in November 2015 had just entered Europe as refugees. In February 2015, the Islamic State boasted it would soon flood Europe with as many as 500,000 refugees. The Lebanese Education Minister said in September 2015 that there were 20,000 jihadis among the refugees in camps in his country. On May 10, 2016, Patrick Calvar, the head of France’s DGSI internal intelligence agency, said that the Islamic State was using migrant routes through the Balkans to get jihadis into Europe.

Time Travel and Social Media By Brian Simpson

Readers would no doubt tune in to the great sense of anxiety that writers have for the future, and the almost frantic desire to warn people before it is too late. This comes from a deep, if not manic, preoccupation with reading and analysing information. Yet, we are not the only ones concerned about the future, for young people too, have picked up, perhaps at a more intuitive level, how this is all going to play out, and they like the idea of time travel to escape it, meaning that the misery of modern existence is now totally global, and there is no other place to run:

“Today's teens prefer texting over in-person communication, use social media multiple times a day, and admit that digital distractions interfere with homework, personal relationships and sleep, according to a new survey of 13- to 17-year-olds. Why it matters: Concerns over the negative impact of social media use have increased recently with reports of teen depression, suicide and cyberbullying on the rise. The study by Common Sense Media, a non-profit group focused on tech and media's impact on kids, shows teens have a complicated relationship with technology. In what was perhaps the study's most surprising finding, roughly 40% of the teens surveyed said they wish they could go back in time to an era before social media. The impact: Interestingly, despite the increased use of social media, teens are more likely to say that social media has a positive effect on them. For instance, 25% say using social media makes them feel less lonely, compared to 3% who say it makes them feel more lonely. Yes, but: Still, more than two-thirds of teens agree with the statement, "social media has a negative impact on many people my age." And 40% agree with the statement, "I sometimes wish I could go back to a time when there was no such thing as social media."

The True Horror of Global Finance By James Reed

We all tend to think in terms of the nation state, and the threat of world government and all that. But, a sober look at world finance indicates that “nations” pretty much disappeared long ago, in say the 19th century sense of nations. There are still the domestic shadows, but the real mechanisms of control are now completely globalised. An excellent article on the “US” debt brought this home to me, and even though I have been writing on this for decades, I still mistakenly fall back into the 19th century paradigm of nationalism vs globalism; we all do. But, there is only an earth-wide type of gravitational field of finance, and “matter,” that is, what we think are solid “nations” arise from it, much like matter is made up of mostly empty space at the sub-atomic level, and I am no science geek:
  https://www.marketwatch.com/story/heres-who-owns-a-record-2121-trillion-of-us-debt-2018-08-21?mod=mw_share_facebook&fbclid=IwAR1iSAjQyu5Xw-kydxSSxQ2kdfWLS2I2SoQxQw_kLVPluBLyypt-wFW2PoY

“Who owns the huge and growing U.S. national debt? By and large, Americans. Some 70% of the national debt is owned by domestic government, institutions investors and the Federal Reserve. A shade under 30% is owned by foreign entities, according to the latest information from the U.S. Treasury. The nation’s debt climbed to a record $21.21 trillion at the end of June, a 6.9% increase from a year earlier. American institutions such as private and state pension funds as well as individual investors were the biggest holders. They owned $6.89 trillion in debt and absorbed about four-fifths of the increase over the past year. Foreigners, led by the Chinese and Japanese, owned $6.21 trillion. Those two countries have cut their stakes since 2015, but each country still owns more than $1 trillion worth of Treasury bonds and notes.”

Macron Talking More Globobbledegook! By Richard Miller

Is the French president Macron the mighty macaroni, competing with the Pope for stupid globalist comment of the week? Or, is this just something that low T type of men engage in?
  https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-11-11/macron-blasts-nationalism-betrayal-patriotism-during-wwi-ceremony-trump-and-putin

“With President Trump already under fire as he attended the World War I centenary commemoration events in Paris for skipping a planned visit to Belleau Wood battlefield and cemetery due to heavy rain, French President Emmanuel Macron used the ceremony's culmination on Sunday to issue a firm condemnation of nationalism. Amidst a steady drizzle and just feet from world leaders including Presidents Trump and Vladimir Putin, Macron emphasized a theme which he said led to the irreversible build-up of tensions that caused the outbreak of WWI. Macron said: “Patriotism is the exact opposite of nationalism, nationalism is a betrayal of patriotism.”

Hundreds of Consumers, Business people and Scientists say: “Get out of the Paris Agreement.” By Viv Forbes

A new lobby group comprising scientists, farmers, consumers, small business and big business is urging both sides of Australian politics to put aside party interests and global agendas to focus on what's best for Australian business, workers, consumers and the environment. The Saltbush Club calls for Australia to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement and to cease financing or supporting the international bodies promoting it. It challenges the whole idea of a consensus on man-made global warming. Jerry Ellis, retired chairman of BHP, and Founding Chairman of the Saltbush Club says:

"It is clear that Australia’s push to meet the Paris carbon dioxide emission targets is leading to higher electricity prices and unreliable supply. We have lost the balance between working for environmental outcomes and working for economic outcomes. These things need to be balanced, and this balance is missing with the Paris Agreement. The world would be a better placed with strong economies generating money to spend on poverty, health, infrastructure and the environment."

Peterson is Not Welcome in Sweden By Michael Ferguson

It is almost impossible to conceive that they were once Vikings and that there was the saying “fear the Northmen.” This is what racial decline is like; Sweden has it all as it sinks into the mud of history, soon to cease to exist:
  https://www.thelocal.se/20181108/crawl-back-under-your-rock-swedish-foreign-minister-tells-canadian-professor-jordan-peterson

“Sweden’s Foreign Minister Margot Wallström on Wednesday slammed Canadian professor Jordan B. Peterson for his controversial views on especially feminism, telling a Stockholm audience that he should "crawl back under the rock he came from". Peterson recently visited Sweden in connection with the release of his new book '12 Rules For Life, an Antidote to Chaos' in which he airs a number of controversial anti-feminist views. The professor is also known to be skeptical of the effects of climate change. In a recent interview with Norwegian journalist and entertainer Skavlan, Peterson said that divorce was damaging for children. "We know that stable, intact, families with two parents is the best for children," he said. In gender-equal Sweden, which in August released a book on the country's four years of a "feminist foreign policy", his views and ideas have stirred up a fair share of emotion. To say the least. During a pro-women panel debate in Stockholm on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Margot Wallström – a staunch supporter and activist for women's rights – couldn't hold her anger towards the Canadian psychologist back, telling the audience that when it comes to his anti-feminist views, she "can't grasp why people waste so much time on that man."

If Macron is a Globalist, Why Should America Pay for His Ravings? By Charles Taylor

French president Macron has gone on the attack against nationalism, targeting Trump, and even wanting a New World order EU army. All of this and more came out at the Paris peace Forum, where he hoped to shine like a star, but France did not foot much of the bill:
  https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2018/11/11/virgil-frances-macron-attacks-americas-trump-and-americans-help-pay-for-it/

“You see, even as Macron is zapping Trump for being a nationalist, the French president will be pushing, in Trump’s absence, a whole new initiative built around—you guessed it—globalism. As the Post also reported, “The president plans to fly home just as Macron’s Paris Peace Forum kicks off for three days of meetings aimed at galvanizing global action on shared challenges, such as climate change.” The Post quoted Thomas Wright, a Europe expert at the Brookings Institution, saying that Macron planned the Paris Peace Forum as “a counterpoint to ‘America First.’” Thus we can see: All the “Macron Attacks Trump” headlines are part of a deliberate strategy. … Under “Main Partners” and “Grand Partners,” we see such liberal reliables as the Carnegie Corporation, the Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Open Society Foundations. That last group, of course, is the outfit founded and funded by George Soros; just in 2017, he gave his philanthropic tool another $18 billion. So we can see: Macron has done a great job of rounding up the usual suspects of limousine liberalism.

The Amazing, the Incredible, Death of Stan Lee By Bruce Bennett

Jewish comic writer,  Stan Lee, or his birth name, Stanley Lieber, along with artist, jack Kirby (real name Jacob Kurtzberg), created  many of Marvel’s major heroes and villains, in the 1960s “silver age’ of comics. There have been disputes over the years about who did what, with Kirby and Steve Ditko being bitter about Lee’s treatment of them. Both left Marvel; Kirby came back briefly then left again. Talk about job satisfaction. And, there were the law suits.

Christian Foundations of the Common Law, Volume 3: Australia By Ian Wilson LL.B

This is a brief review of a tremendous new book by Professor Augusto Zimmerman, Christian Foundations of the Common Law: Australia, (Connor Court Publishing, 2018), which is the third volume in the series on the Christian foundations of the common law, and no doubt, the one volume potentially of most interest to readers, for obvious reasons. Professor Moens in his introduction to this book says that  Australian society has become secularised,  and that there is a danger of legal students, and the public, losing the historical sense of the close connection between Christianity and the evolution of the common law in Australia. This volume serves to remind us all of the glory of the past, and the potentials (and threats) for the future, if only we can “maintain the faith.” Perhaps the allusion here is to Paul’s great saying:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing”: 2 Timothy 4:7-8.

Antifa is Not Violent! What?! By Chris Knight

Following the home invasion attack upon the home of Fox news’ Tucker Carlson, the mainstream false news globalist-fanatic media, have responded in pain to a PayPal ban on antifa, which they insist cannot by any stretch of the imagination be compared to the terrible Alt Lite Proud Boys, who fight back against antifa in protests:

I will spare you the Left wing argument, and go straight to critique. There are so many cases of antifa fighting, bashing, sucker punching people, that the claim has no credibility. A petition to the White House, for formal recognition of antifa as a terrorist group, which required 100,000 signatures received 368, 423 and a pathetic response by the ever-weak President Donald Duck.

With Friends Like Mexico, who Needs Enemies? By Chris Knight

Some Mexicans are almost as eager as the global communist elite, to transform the US into Atzlan, a part of Mexico, so much so that they are transporting illegals to the border, hoping that they will be in time to vote in the US elections:
  https://www.cbsnews.com/news/migrant-caravan-veracruz-miguel-angel-yunes-offers-transportation-today-2018-11-2/

“After three grueling weeks walking along highways and hitching rides in pickups and flatbed trucks, thousands of Central American migrants traveling in a caravan through southern Mexico learned Friday that they would soon be leapfrogging ahead to the nation's capital in buses. Meanwhile in the U.S., President Trump has made the caravan a key election issues, telling crowds "this will be the election of the caravan." As the caravan crossed into the Gulf coast state of Veracruz, Gov. Miguel Angel Yunes announced that authorities there would be providing not only humanitarian assistance but also offering mass transportation for the migrants. "It is very important that they be able to move soon from Veracruz toward another place," Yunes said in a video message released in the evening. "For that reason, we also offered them transportation so that, if possible, tomorrow ... they may be able to go to Mexico City or to the place they wish."

Feminism Paralyses Men: Pamela Anderson By Mrs Vera West

If you don’t know who Pamela Anderson is, don’t Google it if you are scared of silicon. However, while being something of a top-heavy Barbie doll, Pamela Anderson has made much sense in her recent attack on modern insane feminism:
  https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2018/11/04/pamela-anderson-third-wave-of-feminism-paralyses-men/

“Feminism can go too far. I'm a feminist, but I think that this third wave of feminism is a bore. I think it paralyses men.” Pamela Anderson criticises the #MeToo movement, warning women to use “common sense” @PamFoundation #60Mins.” ““I think that this Me Too movement is a bit too much for me. I’m sorry, I’ll probably get killed for saying that…but my mother taught me, don’t go to a hotel with a stranger,” she also said. The Baywatch star also said that her time as a Playboy model was “very empowering” and that “no one forced me to do anything.” This isn’t the first time that Anderson has made comments about the #MeToo movement. In December, the 51-year-old sparked controversy for saying that some of the alleged victims who came forward in the #MeToo era could have made better choices. “Don’t go into a hotel room alone. If someone answers the door in a bathrobe, leave. These are things that are common sense, but I know Hollywood is very seductive and that people want to be famous,” she said.”

A Plastic World By Mrs Vera West

Here is news that even I, who am well up on the pollution of the world, both physical and metaphysical, found disturbing; we are literally becoming polluted with so much plastic that it is now invading our very bodies:
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2018-11-05-all-our-bodies-are-filled-with-plastic.html
  https://www.wired.com/story/your-poop-is-probably-full-of-plastic/

“Today at the United European Gastroenterology meeting in Vienna, researchers announced they have detected microplastics in stool samples from every single one of a small group of international test subjects. "Plastics are pervasive in everyday life and humans are exposed to plastics in numerous ways," said Philipp Schwable, a gastroenterologist at the Medical University of Vienna, who led the study, via email. And yet, even he did not expect that every poo would test positive. The pilot study tested eight subjects from eight different countries: Austria, Italy, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, and the UK. Each maintained a food diary the week before donating their stools, which they deposited in glass jars, wrapped in biohazard bags, and shipped in cardboard boxes marked "Biological Substance, Category B" to the Environment Agency Austria for analysis.

The Muscles of the Right By John Steele

Although the Left are violent, on an individual basis, they are weak. One-on-one, they seldom can deal with their Right opponents, not that anyone should be naughty and fighting anyway (bad, bad, illegal etc.), but this is simply my professional observation from YouTube pondering and viewing. However, there may be a scientific explanation for this, that stronger, muscular men, tend to be more conservative, if not Right wing:
  https://phys.org/news/2018-10-muscular-men-unequal-society.html
  https://medicalxpress.com/news/2018-10-nice-people-finish-money.html

“Men with large upper bodies have a tendency to favour inequality in society and a limited redistribution of resources. This is the conclusion drawn by Professor Michael Bang Petersen and Associate Professor Lasse Laustsen from the Department of Political Science in a study published in the journal, Political Psychology. "The results challenge the belief that our political views are formed by logic and reason alone. Instead, our views seemingly reflect intuitions produced by a Stone Age mind," says Michael Bang Petersen. Modern man thinks with his caveman brain. The new study concerns humans, but takes a theoretical starting point in one of the most well-documented findings in the study of animals: Physical strength shapes the conflict behaviour of animals. If animals are larger and stronger than their rivals, they are prone to attempt to assert themselves in the struggle for status and resources. However, if they are weaker than their rivals, they are likely to withdraw from the conflict. According to the latest research results from Aarhus BSS, the same logic applies to modern men when they reason about political conflicts regarding the redistribution of resources in society.

Aussie Schools Have a Bit of Catching Up to Do … to be as Degenerate as US Schools! By James Reed

There is the future of high school education in multicultralia: teacher student fistfights:
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=136&v=lKlUfhU199E
  https://edition.cnn.com/2018/11/04/us/california-teacher-punches-student/index.html

“A teacher and student at a southeast Los Angeles, California, high school came to blows Friday afternoon, and it was all caught on video. The footage from CNN affiliates KTLA-TV and KCAL shows Maywood Academy High School music teacher Marston Riley, 64, standing face to face with a 14-year-old boy at the front of a classroom when Riley punches him. It's at this point the two begin exchanging punches. The boy wound up on the ground wrapping his arms around Riley's leg. Riley, at this point, repeatedly punches him. The brawl ends with students and what appears to be a campus resource officer trying to separate the two, but Riley continues to pursue the student. It is not clear when the short video started and if it caught the entire exchange. Students told KTLA the fight began after Riley asked the student to leave the class because he wasn't wearing the proper uniform. The boy refused, students said, and video taken by another student shows the boy shouting profanity and a racial slur at Riley, who is black. The boy, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for moderate injuries and later released, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Riley was arrested on charges of child abuse, the release said. He posted bond and was released Saturday. Riley has an arraignment scheduled for November 30.”
