     I am not sure I understand the article which links Evola’s critique to Nietzsche, as I have not read either of these authors, only potted summaries. But, as a practical man, and former warrior, I do know that neither Evola nor Nietzsche, although writing  about the warrior ethos,  would have had a low chance of surviving any sort of grid-down scenario. Nietzsche went mad, and Evola was mainly a philosophical scribbler (and hence weak), so none of them would have got in much, if any, physical training. It is clear to me, that beyond all the academic dreaming about higher men, higher men, defined here as surviving men, they need to be able to survive the coming storm, and this is not done by speculation in books, or being glued to a computer. Beyond all else, the “higher” man will be a survivalist, immersed in the practical affairs of self-defence, food preparation, and living rough and tough, more so than any set of philosophical beliefs.      Many would agree that the cities cannot cope with more migrants since the un-natural population increase has tested infrastructure to the limit.  Evidence of this can be witnessed mornings and late afternoons where city streets are grid-locked with traffic.  Add the inadequacies of hospitals, for example, and one can see why the Big End of town now wish more migrants to be sent to country areas. While country towns have generally seen a decline in population, they will not want more people just for the sake of it.  Where there is an need for workers, more will be accepted provided they are willing. More people collecting welfare will not be a benefit.

The Simulation Argument

      Philosophers, and some physicists have speculated about the world not being “real” as we normally think but being a computer simulation, as seen in the Matrix movies. For example, British philosopher Nick Bostrom wrote a now iconic paper, “Are You Living in a computer Simulation? Philosophical Quarterly, vol. 53, 2003, pp. 243-255. There he reasoned that with runaway technological advancements in computing power, and the reaching of a singularity producing post-human superintelligences, the post-human civilisation may run ancestor simulation on their computers. Given the standard assumption in the materialist paradigm of the philosophy of mind, that these simulated minds would be conscious (minds are just computers), then it could well be that the vast majority of minds like ours could actually be simulations, and given the vast number of simulations run, it would be more likely that we are among the simulated minds, rather than the original biological minds.
