AOC Should follow in the Footsteps of Captain America and Get the Full Ice Treatment!
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has announced she is freezing her eggs. At thirty-six, the congresswoman is putting her reproductive future on ice so she can keep her options open for higher office. The decision is being framed as empowerment, normalisation, and a brave conversation about the impossible balancing act faced by ambitious women. Fair enough. Modern politics demands that candidates plan decades ahead, and biology, unlike messaging, does not wait for the perfect news cycle.
Yet one cannot help noticing a more elegant solution sitting right there in the Marvel catalogue, suggested by Captain America. Why stop at the eggs? Why not freeze the entire package?
Super hero Captain America spent seventy years in suspended animation and woke up to a world that had finally caught up with his values. AOC could do the same. Slip into the cryo-pod now, while the Overton window is still stubbornly stuck somewhere short of the full Green New Deal, open borders, and the abolition of billionaires. Let the country spend a few decades coming around. When the thaw finally arrives, she steps out fresh, unaged, and ready for a political climate that no longer finds her radicalism alarming. The eggs remain viable. The brand remains pure. The timeline problem is solved in one elegant medical procedure.
Think of the advantages. No more awkward primary fights against candidates who still believe in such outdated concepts as balanced budgets or border enforcement. No more having to moderate the message just enough to win a general election. Simply wait until the electorate itself has been sufficiently re-educated by time, racial demographics, and the slow accumulation of progressive victories. Then emerge, like a socialist Captain America, to claim the communist America prize that was always destined to be hers.
There is a certain poetry to it. The same progressive movement that treats biological sex as fluid and national borders as optional, could treat chronology the same way. Why accept the tyranny of the present when technology offers an exit ramp? Freeze the eggs for motherhood. Freeze the politician for history. Wake when the country is ready for a full-on communism, that would make the CCP blush. Red.
Until then, the rest of us in the West can keep living in real time, watching the actual political climate do what political climates usually do: shift, correct, and occasionally refuse to move in the direction the most impatient activists demand. AOC's eggs will be waiting. Frozen in time. The larger question is whether the country will ever decide it needs the full cryogenic treatment as well.
