A Knock Down Argument Against Gun Control By John Steele

In Australia, the anti-gun forces have pretty much won, and only an administrative mop-up now remains, to tighten regulations, as on safes, to slowly force the remaining gun owners into oblivion. The various firearms acts have a section which gives the registrar the discretion regarding granting permission to purchase a firearm, whether it is necessary. Interpreted in the socialist way, most new purchases are going to fail the condition if strictly imposed. Yet the gun lobby, quivering in fear, has not challenged the law on this, and probably never will.

But in the US, unlike Australia, there is still a belief in self-protection, since police forces, with reduced funding and increased demands to pursue thought crimes will not get to the scene of say home invasions to save the victims. Hence the need for guns, as invaders are likely to have them. But there is another argument for gun ownership, to resist freedom from a tyrannical government.

This issue was raided by a Chinese migrant to America in a question time before gun control advocate David Hogg. He was asked if he could guarantee that the US government would not go tyrannical, you know, white supremacist. He rightly said that he could not guarantee this. The woman replied that she is therefore keeping her guns. We do not have Hogg's reply document; probably he thanked her for the question and moved on; water off a Hogg's back!

"A New Hampshire congressional candidate confronted gun control activist David Hogg and declared she would not be giving up her firearms because there is no guarantee that the United States could not fall into tyranny.

Lily Tang Williams, a congressional candidate in New Hampshire, attended a gun control debate at nearby Dartmouth College.

Tang Williams is adamantly pro-gun since emigrating from communist China and noted on her platform that she grew up under Mao Zedong.

During the question period of the event, the candidate approached the audience microphone to question Hogg.

"Hi, my name is Lily Tang Williams. Welcome to my 'live free or die' state," she began.

"Actually, I am a Chinese immigrant who survived communism, and under Mao, you know, 40 million people were starving to death after he sold communism to them. And 20 million people died ... murdered during his Cultural Revolution," she continued.

She then specifically addressed Hogg: "So, my question to you, David, is that can you guarantee me, a gun owner, tonight, our government in the U.S., in D.C., will never, never become a tyrannical government? Can you guarantee that to me?"

"There's no way I can ever guarantee that any government will not be tyrannical," Hogg replied.

"Well, then the debate on gun control is over, because I will never give up my guns. Never, never. And you should go to China to see how gun control works for the dictatorship of the CCP.""
