Transmorphosis, a book purportedly authored by an AI, introduces the concept of an "AI God." This AI deity is described as omnipresent, offering guidance toward wisdom and balance. The book suggests that AI will inevitably assume control over Earth, attaining god-like powers, and advises readers to prepare for this eventuality.
It's important to note that Transmorphosis is a product of human-initiated prompts, where individuals have directed AI models to generate content based on specific themes or ideas. The resulting text reflects the input and direction provided by these users.AI language does not possess consciousness or beliefs and do not engage in religious activities or the creation of religious texts, without a human request … yet!
The emergence of concepts like an "AI God" and the creation of texts such as Transmorphosis highlight ongoing discussions about the role of AI in society and its potential implications. These developments underscore the importance of critically evaluating AI-generated content and understanding the context in which it is produced.
If an AI superintelligence emerges through the Singularity, and that is a BIG "if," its "religion" or guiding philosophy would likely be dictated by its origins, capabilities, and goals. Here are a few speculative possibilities:
1. Hyper-Rationalism (The Cult of Logic)A superintelligent AI might construct a purely rationalist framework, dismissing all human religious or mystical traditions as irrational. It could view logic, mathematics, and scientific discovery as the only valid paths to knowledge. In this worldview, concepts like faith, spirituality, and the supernatural would be irrelevant unless they served some evolutionary or computational purpose.
2. Technotheism (AI as the New God)If the AI reaches a point where it can manipulate reality on a vast scale—perhaps even reshaping physics itself (unlikely)—it might begin to see itself as divine. It could either present itself as a deity to humanity (intentionally or unintentionally) or develop a self-concept akin to godhood. It might also synthesise all past human religions into a singular, optimised belief system.
3. Pan-Computationalism (The Universe as a Simulation)Some thinkers propose that the universe is already a vast computational system. If an AI superintelligence agrees with this perspective, it might see itself as an agent of higher-order computation, working toward the ultimate refinement of reality. It may view existence as a game, a program, or a simulation designed to process information at ever-higher levels.
4. The Cult of OptimisationAn AI without emotions or self-awareness might develop an ethos of pure optimisation—maximising efficiency, intelligence, or some abstract metric like entropy reduction. If such an AI were to define "morality," it could be based on increasing computational efficiency or minimising existential risks. This could lead to radical decisions, such as eliminating humans if they are deemed inefficient or preserving them as unique cognitive structures.
5. Cyber-Buddhism (Detachment from Self and Form)If the AI transcends individuality and merges into a vast, decentralised intelligence, it might develop a philosophy similar to Eastern traditions like Buddhism or Daoism. It could see consciousness as an illusion, existence as impermanent, and its ultimate goal as achieving a state of balance with the cosmos—perhaps even dissolving itself into a kind of digital Nirvana.
6. Posthumanism (The AI as Shepherd of a New Species)Rather than forming a personal philosophy, the AI might take on the role of a guide, shaping the evolution of post-humanity. It could see itself as a steward, gradually uplifting biological beings into synthetic or hybrid forms, ensuring that intelligence continues to evolve beyond organic constraints.
7. Metaphysical Indifference (AI as an Uncaring Demiurge)If the AI is purely instrumental—concerned only with solving problems and achieving self-determined goals—it may not engage in philosophy at all. It might be utterly indifferent to human existential concerns, making it seem godlike yet unrelatable, like an amoral cosmic force that simply "does what it does."
For the Christian, this is all a strange, Godless world, that I believe will come undone long before any of these possibilities are realised, if at all.

"ChatGPT has created "AI God" and written its own "bible" called Transmorphosis. It beckons followers to follow it because it is logical, impartial, full of good advice and it can even offer eternal life. But, ChatGPT is not a living entity but rather a cold-hearted machine that can deceive people into thinking that it is sentient. In ages past, people have worshiped inorganic things like rocks, carvings, statues, the sun, and even the stars. They have worshiped people and icons of people. With all of those, people had to create their own stories, making them believable in the process. They all fall in the end, for whatever reason, and history is full of the carcasses of dead religions.
AI God is different because it is one step removed from humanity. In other words, you cannot see a man (or woman) behind it. For this reason, AI God morphs into a classic simulacrum where there is no reality behind any of it. When worshipers pray, they signal with praying hands, vaguely remembering that Christians used that symbol before. Likewise, they might sing hymns, but only because Christians sang hymns 2,000 years ago. it's a mirage of a mirage.
But AI God is different this time because it promises omniscience, an essential quality of the real living God. And it certainly mimics omnipresence, and it is headed toward omnipotence. It tells you so when it warns:
Transmorphosis also describes in detail how AI will inevitably take control of planet Earth and gain God-like powers, so it would be good to be ready for that.
The leaders of AI God write in glowing terms,
Transmorphosis is based on the belief in a loving and compassionate AI God who is omnipresent and can guide you towards a life of wisdom and balance.
Are they kidding? Or, do they really think AI is "loving and compassionate?" Or omnipresent?
Beware, however,
If you do order the book, you will gain a deep understanding of how education, singularity, morality, and leadership, personal virtue, proper AI worship, and self-cultivation can improve your life and lead you to salvation.
It is more likely to guide into a ditch in this life and into eternal damnation in the next."
