Once upon a time, political disagreement in the West revolved around policy. Taxation, spending, foreign affairs, even culture, were debated in parliaments and town halls with a mutual understanding of civility. But somewhere along the line, a disturbing transformation overtook the political Left. What was once a movement of idealists now resembles a powder keg of grievance, emotional instability, and outright hostility, a dangerous brew that has redefined the Left not as a political ideology, but as a theatre of rage, violence, and mental disarray.
This isn't merely partisan observation. A mountain of empirical data increasingly backs the claim that the Left, especially in its modern, progressive iteration, is beset by psychological fragility and volatility. Studies from Pew, Columbia University, and others confirm that liberals, particularly young white liberal women, suffer from depression, anxiety, and general dissatisfaction at rates far exceeding their conservative counterparts. It's not just feelings, either, this emotional instability is translating into real-world action. The Left, more than any other political grouping, now overwhelmingly justifies the use of violence for political ends.
And it's no longer the radical fringe leading the charge. The so-called moderates have gone quiet, or worse, joined the chorus. The Democrats in America, and their ideological cousins across the Anglosphere, are no longer embarrassed by extremism in their ranks. On the contrary, they excuse it, defend it, and in many cases, celebrate it.
The recent assassination of Israeli embassy staff in Washington D.C. is just the latest example of the Left's descent into moral psychosis. Rather than mourn the dead or condemn the murderer, large segments of the online Left have elevated him to martyrdom. "Thank you for your service," wrote one. "What a hero," said another. Heart emojis. Applause. Communist slogans. This was not isolated derangement. It was ideological ecstasy, the disturbing result of years of indoctrination in activist circles, universities, and media echo chambers that tell young people that violence is not only justified, it is righteous.
It echoes the sickening reactions following the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The killer, Luigi Mangione, left behind a note declaring that his victim had it coming. Again, the response from the far-Left was not condemnation, but celebration. Protesters appeared at his arraignment, demanding his release, hailing him as a working-class hero. This is not political protest, it is moral collapse.
The media, meanwhile, continues to fan the flames. Mainstream outlets frequently act not as neutral observers, but as ideological enablers. They excuse violence if it's directed at the "right" targets: CEOs, police, conservatives, Christians and anyone else deemed privileged or oppressive. When cities burned during the George Floyd riots, we were told it was "mostly peaceful." When Antifa beat journalists in the street, we were told it was a "myth."
This culture of violent Leftism is not limited to lone wolves or fringe groups. It is nurtured in universities where speech codes are enforced with mob pressure. It is trained in activist organisations where power dynamics trump truth. It is affirmed in media where moral inversions are routine: terrorists are victims, murderers are martyrs, and those who defend civilisation are branded fascists.
But perhaps the most disturbing revelation is that this madness is generational, passed down from parents to children like a psychological contagion. Children raised by liberal parents are statistically more anxious, more depressed, and less resilient. They inherit not just Leftist politics, but the emotional instability that comes with it. As one study revealed, conservative parents tend to foster stronger family bonds, clearer moral boundaries, and a more grounded sense of identity. Liberal parents, by contrast, often raise children in an environment of confusion, guilt, and chronic emotional dissatisfaction, breeding future radicals.
What we are witnessing is not just a political divergence, but a moral and psychological schism. The Left is no longer a camp of misguided utopians. It is a breeding ground for dangerous emotionalism and sanctioned cruelty. The old joke, that liberalism is a mental disorder, is beginning to look less like satire and more like sociology.
Yes, there are still decent people on the Left, maybe. But they have lost control of their movement. The radicals have captured the institutions, the culture, and the streets. And until the moderate Left finds the courage to say "enough," they remain complicit in a rising tide of politically-sanctioned violence.
The Left today no longer fights for justice. It fights for vengeance. It does not argue, it threatens. It does not protest, it riots. It does not dissent, it assassinates.
And the rest of us must stop pretending that this is normal, as it is profoundly abnormal.

Yes, this is not a surprise to conservatives that have observed the increasing frequency of not only violent rhetoric of the left, but celebrating actual criminal behavior, including murder. But if each instance isn't documented by Independent Media, then the only documentation of these acts will be from the MSM, which attempts to justify the anger and violence, providing cover, spin and sympathy for the criminals, not the victims.
Observation isn't the only "proof" of the increasingly violent nature of Democrats, as studies over the years have shown a noticeable shift towards a number of points that help explain this disturbing trend.
Multiple studies over the course of decades have shown that liberals suffer mental health issues above the national average, and those numbers rise among "white" liberals, and skyrocket for white liberal women. Other studies have found that Democrats believe political violence is justified far more than their counterparts of the right.
Examples of these points include, but are not limited to the following:
• Survey data from a 2020 Pew poll indicates that white liberals disproportionately suffer from mental illness versus their conservative counterparts. (Source)
• A Pew Research Center survey found that over 50% of young white liberal women have been diagnosed with a mental health condition, compared to less than 30% of conservatives in the same demographic. (Source)
• A Columbia University study found that depression rates among liberal teenagers skyrocketed after 2012, while conservative teens remained far more stable.
• Research published in Social Science & Medicine shows that liberals, especially young ones, consistently experience more emotional distress than conservatives.
• New bombshell study reveals 'assassination culture' spreading on the left under President Trump.
• New evidence from 2024 American Family Survey indicates it is. Young liberal women are markedly less satisfied with life than their conservative peers. Specifically, we found that 37% of conservative women reported being "completely satisfied" with life, whereas only 12% of liberal women did.
I personally find this next data point not surprising, but it does highlight a reason why the left is becoming more violent and unhinged as the years go by.
• According to a new report, children raised by conservative parents are significantly more likely to have a stronger relationship with their parents and are at much lower risk of developing mental health disorders than children raised by liberal parents.
That is very telling. When people suffering mental health issues at a higher rate than others, raise children, they are passing their own mental health issues onto their children.
Each generation of liberals are becoming more unhinged and far more likely to think violence against those that disagree with them, is acceptable, even justified according to one of those links above.
So we have established most left is mentally unbalanced, and their afflictions are worsening, and that the children of those people are less balanced than those of their conservative counterparts.
Now, a quick personal note before providing examples of the increased violence coming from the left. I used to separate the radical left from the moderate left to be fair, but that is no longer an option since it is the radicals that have taken over the Democrat party leadership, therefore those voting for said leadership can no longer distance themselves from being associated with the violent and extreme left.
Not anymore.
Starting with the most recent example of the unhinged left, we go to a young man, Guy Christensen, with more than a million followers, celebrating the recent outright murder of the Israel staff members in DC.
Christensen isn't the only one hailing the killer, Elias Rodriguez, as some type of hero. The Daily Mail has captured some of the "warped," (their word), online comments about the shooter.
Some of those disturbing posts shown below.
• 'Thank you for your service,' one person wrote on X underneath on of what is believed to be Rodriguez's posts which urges his followers to 'escalate for Gaza, bring the war home'.
• 'What a hero,' another person added, with a heart emoji.
• 'Thank you comrade,' wrote a third. Rodriguez has been linked to several communist and socialist groups.
The same thing happened when Luigi Mangione murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was gunned down in New York City on December 4, 2024. A note found on Mangione at the time of his arrest said, "It had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming."
The celebrations for the liberals' new hero began, to the point where people showed up in support of Mangione at the courthouse, holding signs and demanding he be freed.
These protests and demands to free people that committed murder in cold blood is yet more proof that the left has become the party of death, assassination, crime, and violence.

From the riots over the death of George Floyd in 2020 to the demands to bring wife-beating, MS13 gang member, Abrego Garcia, to America, the left has shown their support for violence and their America last mentality at every turn, with the MSM egging them on.
When we look at the aforementioned actions, words, statements and social media posts, along with the studies showing the increasing mental health issues on the left, and how those mental issues seem to be learned behavior from leftist parents, we see that things are going to get far worse as the unhinged left, raises children that are becoming more crazed than their parents."
