The Fast Coming Truckies Strike(s) Set to Bring the Country Down? By James Reed

I have assembled material on the proposed truckies strike. There are various sources, and different positions, ranging from a day strike, to an all-out attempt to bring the country to its knees. It is all possible, but at this point in time, I can’t call it. It would be wise to heed the advice of on trucker, cited below, who said to stock up on supplies. That would include petrol/diesel for the car as well. The worst case scenario, which is highly unlikely in my opinion, is a massive shut down of trucks for two weeks. By that time even the supply depots for the supermarkets will be empty, and desperate people will start doing home invasions.

Home invasions are on the rise already, as covered at this blog in previous posts, so this will push it over the edge. And, the home invasion trend is for the invaders to come armed with melee weapons, eager to use theme. In Brisbane, these home invasions are occurring in the richer suburbs now, so those feeling smug, warm and cosy in the green leafy suburbs should be vigilant if SHTF occurs.

“Australians have been warned to "stock up" on groceries, as truckies threaten to carry out protests against lockdowns, which could bring the country to a standstill.

According to social media posts, protests are planned across Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday, August 31.

In a video circulating on social media, a man encourages Australians to stock up and buy food “for the next week, or two” because supply chains to stores would be interrupted by the strikes.

“It’s on. The truckies are doing it,” a man says in a video distributed under the Twitter name Carla Muys.

“The truckies are going to shut down the country; what that means is you need to go shopping now, get what you can for the next week or two, load your fridge, freezers.

“The truckies are coming and they are going to pull this country down and we are all going to do it together and remove this s**t government.

“The Vets [war veterans] are in, the truckies are in, I’m in.”

The man went on to share his anti-vaccination views, calling it "poison."

"I'm willing to go to jail to save my country and children," he continues.

"Every government who bought into Pfizer, they know it is poison.

"If you want to do this, you have got to do this together as one."

A NSW Police spokesman said they are aware of the planned protest.

“NSW Police will continue to conduct Operation STAY AT HOME to ensure compliance with the public health orders,” they told Yahoo News Australia.

Paul, a truck driver from Victoria, told 2GB’s Ben Fordham the protests "stems from frustration," including repeatedly applying for permits to travel between states and continuous Covid tests.

“At the end of the day there’s a lot of people who lost their job, we’ve worked through the whole Covid (crisis),” he said.

Striking over disputes with Toll

Thousands of transport workers are expected to strike on Friday over an employment dispute with operator Toll, citing the company's refusal to back down on proposals to cut overtime, and to use more cheap contractors as the reason behind the protests.

The Courier Mail reported around 1,300 Queensland truck drivers and 7,000 transport workers nationally will walk off the job for 24 hours, with the Transport Workers Union admitting it could be problematic for Queensland's supply chain.”

“Rogue truck drivers are reportedly plotting to shut down major highways across Australia to protest against Covid lockdowns.

One driver has issued a warning in a video circulating online that truck drivers are 'planning to shut down the country' to 'remove the s*** government'.

He said supply chains would soon be interrupted and urged Aussies to stock up on groceries to get them through the next couple of weeks.

A GoFundMe page has since been launched to support the truckies financially as they prepare to strike from 9am on Tuesday August 31, which will involve 'blocking every highway entering into every state at the same time'.

It's on. The truckies are doing it. The truckies are going to shut down the country,' the man says in the video.

'What that means is you need to go shopping now, get what you can for the next week or two, load your fridge, freezers.'

'The truckies are coming and they are going to pull this country down and we are all going to do it together and remove this s*** government.

The man says truck drivers have been in discussion with people from around 'the world' and are working with war veterans to carry out the scheme.

The man's social media page is filled with anti-vax posts, including bogus claims the vaccine is a conspiracy developed between America and China to 'poison' people.

'The truckies are in, the VETS are in, I'm in. I'm willing to go to jail to save my country and children,' he says.

'Every government who bought into Pfizer, they know it is poison.

'If you want to do this, you have got to do this together as one.'

The man did not reveal how many truck drivers were involved in the demonstration.”

“Crisis talks will be held this morning, in a bid to stop truck drivers from taking strike action later this week.

Parcel and grocery deliveries could be disrupted if Toll workers push ahead with plans to hold 24-hour industrial action.

The Transport Workers Union is meeting with the company again this morning.

National secretary Michael Kaine said workers don’t want to disrupt deliveries.

“This is not a dispute about wages or monetary conditions, this is just a dispute about an attack on job security,” he told Gareth Parker.

“These workers want permanent jobs.

“The last thing any of us want is for disruption, particularly during the pandemic, but that choice is one that workers seriously have to make.”’

“Supermarket have urged shoppers not to panic buy as truck drivers threatened to disrupt food supplies across the country with an anti-lockdown protest.

In a series of online videos, rogue truckies warned logistics operations nationwide would be brought to a halt from 9am on Tuesday as drivers 'block every highway entering into every state at the same time'.

Drivers are protesting against Covid regulations, which in some states order regular testing and vaccination for authorised workers who cross domestic borders.

'We're aware of the situation and monitoring it closely,' Woolworths said.

'We hope further talks can bring a resolution to the matter in the coming days.'

Coles and Aldi are yet to comment on whether their supply chains would be interrupted after being contacted by Daily Mail Australia.

The plot came to light after one driver issued a now-viral video urging Aussies to stock up on groceries because truck drivers are 'planning to shut down the country' to 'remove the s**t government'.

Within hours, a flurry of similar clips swept across the internet as other truck drivers vowed to take part in the radical movement.

Those involved appear to be anti-vaxxers and 'freedom fighters' whose social media pages are filled with conspiracy theories about pandemic.

Many of them are angry about looming changes to Covid regulations that will require truck drivers submit to testing or get vaccinated to enter some states.

From August 30, authorised workers from NSW virus hotspots cannot leave their local council for work unless they have received at least one dose of the vaccine or have a medical certificate saying they cannot be vaccinated.

Similar rules apply for some freight workers entering Queensland, while other states have entry restrictions such as frequent mandatory testing and border passes.

Notorious 'freedom fighter' Romeo Georges, who went viral after attending Sydney's anti-lockdown protest last month, shared a video confirming he would answer his colleagues' call to arm.

'News flash for you slag. I don't get your vaccine b***. Come and give it to me personally if you want me to take it,' he said in a video posted on TikTok.

'See how that goes for you. Australia will just come to a halt if they are pushing this stuff on the border.'

Similarly, Mr Serong spouts fictitious claims on social media such as that the pandemic is a government conspiracy to track its citizens and lockdowns are a bid to push 'experimental' vaccines.

Recent posts on his Facebook read: 'Danger, you are being conditioned to view your freedom as selfish', and 'if you're vaccinated you're irresponsible'.

Truckie Stuart Devine, from Sydney, also shared a video pledging to join in the protest if forced to get the vaccine.

'Already the QR codes have had the vaccine status added into it ready for restaurants, and the government says 'we won't stop anyone going in, but it's up to the business,' he said.

'It is against the constitution.  It's discrimination. What does it matter if you are vaccinated? It's about control and monitoring you.'

Views espoused on Mr Devine's social media pages include claims state leaders are like dictators and vaccines are unnecessary because there are alternative remedies to treat Covid.

'Truckies will unite all you Gestapo premiers,' he wrote in a recent Facebook post. 'Be careful very careful.'

The Transport Workers Union said it did not sanction the protest, but it understood why truck drivers were frustrated by restrictions.

'Truckies have been the backbone of the Covid response, dealing with border chaos and closed road houses,' TWU told Daily Mail Australia.

'They are angry for legitimate reason. The current Covid testing regime forces them to wait many hours, eating into already scarce hours that should be used to earn an income.

'By now, the federal government really should have built a more flexible and rapid testing regime that recognises the reality of long haul trucking. This would make life a lot easier for people who are already doing it tough due to the pandemic.'

NSW Police said it was aware of the planned protest.”

Ok, all will be well, the police are onto it.
