Bad news across the world continues on the birth dearth. Now it seems according to a poll conducted by the Independent Center, in association with Newsweek, that 30 percent of Gen Z (people born between 1997 and 2012) and millennials (people born between 1981 and 1996) did not have nor want any children. Previously the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that the U.S. birthrate has dropped to an all-time low, with the provisional number of births for the US being 3,591,328 in 2023, down two percent from the year prior. The other side of the coin is that 62 percent of respondents, said they had or wanted to have children, while 9 percent said they were unsure. So, it is not all hopeless. Yet.
These sorts of statistics are likely to be the same in other jurisdictions such as Australia, so this is a problem that is plaguing the West and getting worse. No-one has any solid answer to it, and it perplexes even communist China.
