An email from Andrew Hastie's office with some bad news about a new tax from the Albo government on utes, SUVs, and 4WDs, all part of the climate change alarmist strategy of forcing people to drive electric vehicles, supposedly to save the planet. Of course, as many blog posts have shown, it will do nothing of the sort, as it will take an enormous quantity of carbon-producing resources to move to this crazy Green economy. Fortunately, Andrew Hastie, Liberal Member for Canning, is taking this issue on, and he gives details below, and has a petition and stickers ready to go. This one, an attack upon the icon of Australia, the ute, must not be allowed to get through! Here is the email:
"You should be free to buy whatever car you choose.
But Labor doesn't want you to have that freedom.
If you tow a boat or caravan—pay attention.
If you need a big ute for your job—pay attention.
If you need a big car for your family—pay attention.
Because Labor's family car and ute tax will add up to $25,000 to the cost of utes, SUVs, and 4WDs.
Why? They want to penalise motorists who don't drive electric cars, and they are using a big stick to force you from petrol/diesel to electric.
And they will whack you hard!
Labor's tax will cost you:
$25,050 more for a Toyota Landcruiser
$17,950 more for a Ford Ranger
$14,490 more for a Toyota Hilux
$13,830 more for an Isuzu D-Max
$12,180 more for an MG ZS
$11,020 more for a Toyota RAV4
This is big money and is coming out of YOUR pocket.
Even if you aren't buying a new car, this tax will get you because the cost of second-hand cars and utes will skyrocket as demand for older vehicles spikes.
There are many in our community who work in the auto industry. They are worried about their jobs.
And I know you are feeling the cost-of-living crisis. Rents, mortgages, rates, groceries, fuel, healthcare costs, and school fees are increasing.
So why are Labor hitting us with a new car tax? And why are they attacking the Aussie way of life?
It's simple: they want to deindustrialise Australia and make us weaker because of their green ideology.
But it's not fair that we pay the price for Labor's 'net zero' obsession, just so wealthy activists can feel good about themselves.
So, I am fighting this new tax.
And I'm looking for like-minded travellers, with big engines and plenty of horsepower.
If you oppose Labor's massive new ute and family car tax, sign the petition here.
I have also prepared "NO to Labor's Big Car Tax" bumper stickers.
