The UN is not merely incompetent. It is structurally, morally, and philosophically incapable of fulfilling the mission it was given in 1945. By 2025 the verdict is unanimous, from the White House to the average taxpayer: the organisation has become the single greatest obstacle to genuine international cooperation. Its funeral has already been scheduled; the only question is how long we keep paying for the open bar at the wake.

The Fatal Design Flaw: One Tyranny, One Vote

The UN's original sin is the "one country, one vote" rule married to five permanent vetoes. This was sold as democratic fairness. In practice it is the most anti-democratic arrangement imaginable.

Tiny island dictatorships bought for $20 million by Beijing get the same General Assembly vote as the United States, which pays 22 % of the budget. Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Cuba sit on the Human Rights Council while lecturing liberal democracies – about war crimes. China, committing genocide against the Uyghurs, uses its Security Council veto to make the topic disappear.

This isn't a bug. This is the operating system.

Globalism Über Alles – Local Values Need Not Apply

The deepest rot, however, is ideological. The UN long ago abandoned the modest 1945 goal of preventing world wars and mutated into a supranational proto-world government pushing a borderless, post-national, post-cultural agenda that treats sovereign nations as annoying speed bumps on the road to planetary utopia; there are many books about this.

UNESCO promotes curricula that erase national histories in favour of "global citizenship."

The WHO tried to impose a pandemic treaty that would have overridden national constitutions.

UN migration pacts lecture Hungary and Poland that refusing millions of military-age males from the Middle East is a human-rights violation.

The Sustainable Development Goals explicitly aim to "transform the world" by 2030 – not through persuasion, but through binding targets enforced by unaccountable bureaucrats, in its tyrannical Agenda 2030, a scheme to bring down the West.

In short, the UN has become the high church of globalism: an ideology that views distinct nations, cultures, religions, and democratic sovereignty as obstacles to be dissolved. The moment a country says "our people come first," the UN brands it "populist," "xenophobic," or "far-Right." The moment a nation defends its borders, its faith, or its traditional family structure, the UN dispatches rapporteurs, special envoys, and funding threats.

Real-World Body Count

Rwanda 1994: UN peacekeepers stood by while 800,000 were butchered.

Srebrenica 1995: Dutch UN troops handed 8,000 Bosnian men and boys to Serb militias for execution.

The pattern is unbreakable: the UN is either useless or actively on the side of the aggressor.

The Money Quote (Literally)

The United States alone will send roughly $13–15 billion to the UN system in 2025. That's more than 180 member states pay combined. They fund an organisation whose General Assembly votes 85 % of the time against the US, whose Human Rights Council has condemned Israel more times than the rest of the world combined, and whose pension fund invests in Chinese surveillance companies that run the Uyghur gulags.

Only in the UN could you be forced to bankroll your own character assassination.

The Alternative Already Exists – And It Works

History has already shown the way forward. When the League of Nations collapsed, the world didn't give up on international cooperation; it built something better. Today, ad-hoc coalitions of democracies get things done precisely because they don't include Venezuela, Iran, or North Korea at the table:

The Proliferation Security Initiative (countering WMD trafficking)

The Quad (US, India, Japan, Australia)

AUKUS

The Abraham Accords framework

NATO (still the most successful alliance in history)

These are voluntary, values-based, and effective. None of them require giving Cuba a vote on human rights or letting Russia veto sanctions against itself.

Time to Pull the Plug

Defunding and leaving the UN is no longer radical; it is the bare minimum act of national self-respect. The US should:

1.Immediately withdraw from and defund UNRWA, UNESCO, the Human Rights Council, and the WHO.

2.Move the UN headquarters out of New York (turn it into condos; Manhattan real estate will thank you).

3.Lead a new "Concert of Democracies" – an alliance of free nations with weighted voting based on population, GDP, and actual respect for human rights.

The United Nations is not reformable. Its DNA is poisoned by equal seating for tyrants and an institutional hostility to the very nation-state system that keeps the world stable.

The League of Nations died so the UN could be born. Now the UN must die so that something actually capable of defending freedom, sovereignty, and decency can take its place.

Globalism's cathedral is burning. Let it burn. The age of sovereign nations cooperating as equals – not dissolving into a borderless blob ruled by unaccountable bureaucrats – is just beginning.
