The Pope has Money to Burn By Peter West

With all the homeless in the west one would have thought that if the Pope wanted to relieve the church of $500, 000 he could spend that money at home. But, no, the religion of migration says otherwise:

“Pope Francis has donated half a million dollars in aid for migrants apprehended along the U.S. - Mexico border. The funds will be distributed among 27 projects promoted by sixteen Mexican dioceses and religious congregations, which requested assistance in continuing to provide food, lodging, and basic necessities to the migrants.  Vatican News claimed the aid would specifically help more than 75,000 people who arrived in Mexico in 2018 as part of six migrant caravans. The funding comes as more than a thousand migrants broke out of a detention center in southern Mexico on Thursday evening, authorities said, in a fresh sign of how a surge in arrivals has stretched the country's resources to the limit. Peter's Pences provided the funding, which allows the Pontiff with the financial means to help those who are suffering as a result of war, oppression, natural disaster, and disease. In a statement Peter's Pence said: 'In recent months, thousands of migrants have arrived in Mexico, having traveled more than 4,000 kilometers on foot and with makeshift vehicles from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. 'Men and women, often with young children, flee poverty and violence, hoping for a better future in the United States. However, the US border remains closed to them.' The Catholic Church currently hosts thousands of migrants in hotels within the dioceses or religious congregations, providing basic necessities, from housing to clothing.”

It sounds all so very humanitarian, but all it will do is simply fuel even more illegals. But for the Pope there are no illegals because the entire Third World has the right to enter the West. Ok, accept that, and the next thing will be that the entire world has a right to everything you have, complete hyper-communism. After all, why not? By the “logic” of the social justice warrior, of course they do. Anyway, the Pope’s donation will not go very far in dealing with the economic costs of illegal migrants, especially the vast health costs:

“It was 5 a.m. and CBS News national correspondent Byron Pitts is with a woman who is nine months pregnant. She's rushed to a south Texas hospital to undergo a C-section - a $4,700 medical procedure that won't cost her a dime. She qualifies for emergency Medicaid. She gave birth to a healthy, 8 1/2 pound baby boy - born in America. His Mexican mother gave him an American name: Eliot. Eliot is one of an estimated 300,000 children of illegal immigrants born in the United States every year, according to the Pew Hispanic Center. They're given instant citizenship because they are born on U.S. soil, which makes it easier for their parents to become U.S. citizens. That's because those babies can eventually sponsor their parents - when they turn 21 years old. As for Eliot's mother, no longer as fearful of deportation, she told CBS News her name, Fabiola, and her story. "So your son is an American citizen. What does that mean to you?" Pitts asked. "I am very glad that he was born. That's why I came here - so my children, my husband and I could have a better life," she said through a translator. Back in December, when she was six months pregnant, Fabiola, her husband and their two daughters - ages 4 and 11 - crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico into the U.S. Once on the other side of the river they walked for two hours in search of a better life and free medical care for their unborn child.

"Do many women in Mexico make the choice to have their children in the United States?" Pitts asked. "Yes," she said through a translator. "I know people who have done that. Things are much better here in the U.S. because they help children so much more." It's a "better" life ... that American taxpayers help pay for. Take healthcare for example -- an estimated $1.1 billion per year for undocumented men, women and children, according to the Rand Corporation. Joe Riley is the CEO of the McAllen Texas Medical Center near the Texas-Mexico border. Forty percent of the children born there, nearly 2,400 last year, were the babies of illegal immigrants. Riley has seen and heard it all. "Mothers about to give birth that walk up to the hospital still wet from swimming across the river in actual labor … dirty, wet, cold," he said. But here to have a child? "Here to have a child in the U.S.," he said. McAllen is part of a large hospital system. Like all hospitals, it is mandated by law to treat all emergency-room patients, not verify citizenship. "We have uncompensated care of over $200 million a year," Riley said. "Of money that you'll never see again?" Pitts asked. "Yes," he said. Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas, said: "It is not fair to the taxpayers who have to foot the bill."

Congress has all but given up on comprehensive immigration reform. But lawmakers like Smith want to solve birth citizenship to illegal immigrants, in part by challenging the 14th Amendment, which guarantees U.S. citizenship to any child born in America. "It seems fundamentally wrong that we ought to give the greatest honor of their citizenship," Smith said. "His or her mother came across the border illegally." Many Americans who struggle to take care of their own families think it is unfair that they should take care of a family and they are not U.S. citizens. "I don't understand the resentment," said. "I know that God will help them, too." That's what Fabiola's doing for young Eliot. Relying on her faith, her family … and the U.S. government.”

Apart from medical costs, the most alarming human costs come from increased crime. Hundreds of US sheriffs signed a letter requesting that Trump build a border wall to stop criminals flooding in, the sort of people the Democrats want:

“Hundreds of sheriffs from 40 states have called on Congress to fund President Donald Trump's initiative to build a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico. “Without border security and immigration reform, more Americans will continue to be victims of crime. Now is the time to act,” a letter signed by 380 sheriffs said. "Further delay and inaction on immigration reform will cost more innocent lives, more financial hardships, and an even greater decline in the public trust that is essential to the preservation of our Republic," the letter added. Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson of Briston County, Massachusetts was the driving force behind the letter; he encouraged Congress to make moves against border and sanctuary policies. "These sanctuary policies directly undermine and limit cooperation and collaboration between local, state and federal law enforcement, making it harder for America’s sheriffs to protect our citizens and legal residents," he added. The move was backed by the National Sheriff's Association, with the group's Executive and CEO Jonathan Thompson issued a statement: “Congress’ inaction undermines sheriffs’ ability to protect our citizens. Sheriffs across this country have signed this letter because Congress cannot continue to weaken our efforts to make our communities as safe as possible."

The Trump administration has previously tried to demand that Congress put money toward border wall plans. Mexico has refused to fund its development, despite Trump repeatedly stating throughout his 2016 presidential election campaign and presidency that he would make the country pay for the wall. The president also recently proposed the idea of funding construction of the border wall through the U.S. military budget, multiple sources told CNN on Tuesday. Trump pitched the idea in a private meeting last week with House Speaker Paul Ryan while reviewing the omnibus spending bill Trump signed into law last week, which includes $1.6 billion for border security, including the development of the wall.”

However, Trump will not build a wall that could have been put up with the fraction of the money wasted on foreign aid, especially that given to Mexico, who wants the US to fall. The west will be liberal all the way to its grave. Then everybody will be equal at the bottom of the wheelie bin. I hope the elites will enjoy the world that they are creating, because they certainly deserve it.
