The verdict is in, and it is merciless. The great modernist gamble, that a continent-spanning republic could be built on the proposition that all men are equal, that blood and culture do not matter, that a nation can be an idea written on parchment and open to anyone who recites the creed, has failed. Not partially, not tragically but redeemably. It has failed catastrophically, irretrievably, and with the finality of a corpse cooling on a slab.

Jared Taylor's American Renaissance address of November 2025 is the autopsy report. The patient was two nations, America and Australia, both deliberately founded as extensions of British civilisation, both deliberately unmade in the name of an experiment that no other people on earth has ever been foolish enough to attempt at this scale. The Chinese never declared Beijing an "experiment in diversity." The Japanese never announced that Tokyo would henceforth be a "nation of immigrants." Only the Anglosphere drank the poison, and only the Anglosphere is dying from it.

For most of their histories, the lie was sustainable because the demographics had not yet caught up with the dogma. In 1960, America was 88.6 % white; Australia under the White Australia policy was effectively 99 % European. The institutions still worked because the people who built and ran them were the same people who had inherited them. English common law, jury trials, free speech, the work ethic, the nuclear family, the idea that government exists to protect liberty rather than to redistribute it; these were not "propositional" abstractions; they were the lived habits of a particular people. Then the laws changed — Hart-Celler in 1965, the abolition of White Australia in 1973 — and the experiment began in earnest.

Sixty years later the results are undeniable:

White children are minorities in most large American and Australian cities.

English is a second language in many public-school systems.

The welfare rolls, the prison populations, and the political client classes are increasingly non-European.

The historic American nation and the historic Australian nation are being replaced in real time, legally, openly, and with the smug benediction of every major institution, irreversibly.

This is not immigration as Ellis Island understood it. That was settlement by kindred European stocks who assimilated within a generation. This is replacement. The modernist experiment insisted that culture is weightless, that loyalty is transferable, that a Somali goat-herder and a fifth-generation Australian rancher are interchangeable parts in the great machine of GDP. The experiment has now run long enough to reveal the truth: some peoples build Sydney and Boston, other peoples build Mogadishu and Caracas. When the builders are displaced, the cities begin to resemble the places the newcomers fled.

Donald Trump's second term is the last spasm of the old republic trying to save itself. The border is closing. Birthright citizenship is dying. Refugee intakes are collapsing. DEI is being extirpated from the federal bureaucracy. Antifa is designated domestic terrorists. White South African farmers are being offered refuge on the explicit grounds that they will assimilate, something never previously admitted about any other group. These are the actions of a state that has finally noticed it is committing suicide and is frantically reaching for the defibrillator.

But executive orders are written in water. Every one of Trump's reforms can be undone on 20 January 2029 by a President Newsom, Whitmer, or whatever exotic replacement the Democrats select next. Demography is moving only one direction. Whites fall from 71 % of the electorate in 2024 to a projected 69 % in 2028. That is all it takes. Four percent net shift and the experiment ends forever, this time with a non-white majority that has no ancestral attachment to the civilisation it inherits and every reason to plunder it.

When that day comes, the modernist era will be remembered as the greatest self-inflicted wound in human history: two magnificent continents settled, tamed, and enriched by one of the most creative and energetic peoples the world has ever produced, only to be voluntarily handed over to peoples who have never replicated those achievements anywhere else on earth.

What comes after the collapse?

Not reformation of the whole. The United States and Australia are too big, too diverse, and too locked into legal superstitions ("birthright citizenship," "civil rights," "one person one vote") for the old nations to repossess the entire territory by political means. The numbers simply will not allow it.

What comes after is partition.

The only realistic future for the historic American and Australian peoples is secession — geographic, cultural, and eventually political. Whites will have to do what every other self-respecting people on earth already takes for granted: draw boundaries around living space that belongs to them and to their children, and defend those boundaries by any means necessary.

It will not be the whole continent. It may begin with a few counties in Idaho or Arkansas, a handful of shires in rural Victoria or Queensland. Whites — especially young, conscious, fertile whites — will move there deliberately. They will take over local government, school boards, sheriff's offices. They will make it unmistakably clear that these are places where European norms of behaviour are expected and enforced.

These bridgeheads will grow. A county becomes a cluster of counties, a cluster becomes a region, a region negotiates autonomy or outright independence when the centre is no longer willing or able to govern it. The federal leviathan may rage, but it will be hollow: dependent on tax revenue from the very areas it can no longer control, defended by a military that is increasingly white and increasingly sympathetic, and facing a population that no longer believes in its multicult myths.

This is not fantasy. It is the pattern of every dying empire: Yugoslavia, the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, all dissolved along ethnic lines once the ideological glue dissolved. The only question is whether the partition happens through foresight and relative peace, or through the ghastly ethnic warfare that accompanies collapse when no one plans ahead.

The modernist experiment is over. The only thing left to decide is whether our grandchildren will live in fortified ethnostates of their own making on fragments of the continents their ancestors conquered, or as despised minorities in the third-world nations that will rise on the ruins of modernity. There is no third option.
