Something strange is happening beneath our feet here in the US, once land of the free. While the rest of us are being told by Trumper to tighten our belts, prepare for economic hardship, and accept whatever chaos the future holds, America's shadow elite are quietly preparing for something big. And they're not inviting us.
Welcome to Mount Weather, the infamous FEMA stronghold buried in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, the same facility where congressional leaders were whisked away following the 9/11 attacks. This secretive underground base has long been rumoured to be one of the crown jewels of the U.S. government's "Continuity of Government" (COG) program, a hidden fortress where the ruling class can ride out nuclear war, biological attack, EMP or even an asteroid impact. It was built during the Cold War to protect NORAD's command center from Soviet missiles. Today, it's still operational, still funded, and still under military control.

According to Catherine Austin Fitts, former Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, these visible bunkers are merely the tip of the iceberg. Fitts claims that trillions of dollars in unaccounted-for government spending, an eye-watering $21 trillion, according to research by MSU economist Mark Skidmore, may have been funnelled into building a hidden network of subterranean cities, connected by high-speed tunnels and powered by exotic energy technologies unknown to the public.
Think that sounds like science fiction? Tucker Carlson, former Fox News host and now a lightning rod for unsanctioned truths, says he personally knows a contractor who worked on one such base, allegedly linked directly to the White House itself. According to this insider, what appears to be an ordinary power transformer on Constitution Avenue is actually a covert egress tunnel from the executive mansion!
What other secrets lie beneath our capital? Fitts goes further. These bunkers, she claims, aren't just panic rooms for the political elite. They're staging grounds for black operations and a secret space program, an alternative civilisation hidden in plain sight, funded by the theft of taxpayer money and hidden behind a wall of national security.
She's not alone in this belief. Whistleblowers, former military personnel, and underground researchers have long whispered of high-speed maglev trains, breakaway technologies, and underground bases even beneath the ocean floor.
