So, NASA is telling us now that water has been discovered on the moon. What has taken them so long to work this out? Such pools of ice water are relatively large in extent and surely should have been detected long before 2018. If I can find water in my fridge, then why can’t NASA in all its magic have worked this out sooner?

There is a fascinating area of conspiracy concerning the 1969 alleged moon landing, and how this could have been faked. Personally I don’t think so, as there, is, surprisingly enough (for usually the establishment ignores conspiracy theories, giving them even more edge), rebuttals of this. What I really like are physics bits about the uniqueness of the moon, even in the universe:

“New simulations show that Earth’s moon is not only unique in the solar system, but may also be rare throughout the universe. Research reveals that less than 10 percent of terrestrial planets may have a satellite large enough to provide the stability life needs to develop. Earth spins around its orbital axis, changing its angle toward the sun — its obliquity — by a little more than a degree over the course of thousands of years. These small differences are significant enough to cause the ebb and flow of ice ages.”
The science geeks are still fighting over hypotheses about how the moon formed:

On the fringe of sanity is the notion that the moon is hollow and really is a space ship for aliens:

The moon is supposed to ring like a bell when struck. What? Ring in the vacuum of space? What have the underground aliens have to say about this? The cold hard reality of science is poetically disappointing because since childhood I liked the romantic foody idea moon is made of green cheese, which was later modified to be just “cheese.” But, does that imply that there will one day be giant cosmic rats coming to eat the moon? Oh, I forget, they are already here on Earth, eating away at social capital day by day.
