“Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed in December that he was never told his son’s business dealings in Ukraine posed a conflict of interest. He also said last September that he had never spoken to his son about his business dealings. A new report suggests both of those claims may be false. The report, released Wednesday by two Senate committees, suggests that Biden was briefed about the fact that his son’s dealings with Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas conglomerate, suggested a conflict of interest for the Obama administration. The report, which was made public on Wednesday, indicates that at least two individuals raised concerns about Hunter Biden’s service on Burisma’s board of directors during the former vice president’s tenure in office. The first individual, deputy assistant secretary of state George Kent, testified before Congress earlier this year that he reached out to Biden’s office in February 2015 to warn about Hunter Biden’s work with the natural gas company. Kent, who was then serving as the deputy chief of mission in Ukraine, became aware of the younger Biden’s ties to Burisma when looking into allegations the company had reportedly bribed law enforcement authorities in Kiev. “After, I became aware that Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma,” Kent said. “Soon after that in a briefing call with … office of the vice president, in February 2015, I raised my concern that Hunter Biden’s status as a board member could create the perception of a conflict of interest.” Kent further testified that he had told the vice president’s staff that “someone needed to talk to Hunter Biden, and he should [step] down from the board of Burisma” so as not to complicate the administration’s anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine. Although no one ever followed up with Kent over his concerns, in December of that year, as Biden was preparing to head to Ukraine, a top adviser, Amos Hochstein, broached the subject directly with the vice president. Hochstein, then the Obama administration’s special envoy on energy affairs, raised the topic because of concerns that Russia was “using Hunter Biden’s role with Burisma to sow disinformation.” “I wanted to make sure that he was aware that there was an increase in chatter on media outlets close to Russians and corrupt oligarchs-owned media outlets about undermining his message … including Hunter Biden being part of the board of Burisma,” Hochstein told the Senate investigation. Hochstein also said that a meeting with Hunter Biden after that conversation seemed to clarify that the vice president had discussed the issue with his son.
“A new Senate report released Wednesday concludes that former Vice President Joe Biden allowed Hunter Biden and other members of his family to enrich themselves through links with foreign companies and governments while he was in office. The report notes that the Obama administration was aware of, but did nothing about the conflict of interest that was created when Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was appointed to the board of Burisma, a corrupt Ukrainian fossil fuel company. But the report goes further than what was revealed during the impeachment inquiry last year. It presents email evidence that former Secretary of State John Kerry, whose stepson Chris Heinz was one of Hunter Biden’s business partners, was also aware of the conflicts of interest. It adds that “Hunter Biden, his family, and [business partner Devon] Archer received millions of dollars from foreign nationals with questionable backgrounds.” It notes that Hunter Biden went on a “$100,000 global spending spree with James Biden and Sara Biden” after receiving money from a Chinese investor. And it adds that Hunter Biden appeared to have paid women linked to an “Eastern European prostitution or human trafficking ring.” It also notes: “The records acquired by the Committees show consistent, significant and extensive financial connections among and between Hunter Biden, James Biden, Sara Biden, Devon Archer, and Chinese nationals connected to the Communist regime and [People’s Liberation Army] as well as other foreign nationals with questionable backgrounds.”
The report, presented by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) of the Senate Committee on Finance, was launched in August 2019 — prior to the impeachment controversy, and as the result of the “Henniges transaction,” in which a company tied to the Chinese state had bought an American company that makes “anti-vibration technologies with military applications.” One of the companies in the transaction was Bohai Harvest RST (BHR), a Chinese-funded investment company in which Hunter Biden owns a stake. The report “details examples of extensive and complex financial transactions involving the Bidens” and notes that Hunter Biden “was not the only Biden who cashed in on Joe Biden’s vice presidency.” It also notes that Hunter Biden enjoyed Secret Service protection during extensive trips abroad, and that the protection continued for a few months after he joined Burisma.

The records acquired by the Committees show that Hunter Biden and his family were involved in a vast financial network that connected them to foreign nationals and foreign governments across the globe. Hunter Biden and Archer, in particular, formed significant and consistent financial relationships with the corrupt oligarch Mykola Zlochevsky during their time working for Burisma and their firms made millions of dollars from that association while Joe Biden was vice president and the public face of the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy. Rosemont Seneca Thornton, an investment firm co-founded by Hunter Biden, received $3.5 million in a wire transfer from Elena Baturina, who allegedly received illegal construction contracts from her husband, the former mayor of Moscow. Moreover, Archer’s apparent receipt of money for a car from Kenges Rakishev of Kazakhstan while Vice President Biden was in Kyiv is especially concerning in light of the timing. And finally, Biden and Archer’s work with Chinese nationals connected to the Communist regime illustrate the deep financial connections that accelerated while his father was vice president and continued after he left office. The report also notes that the vice president was made aware of the conflicts of interest that Hunter Biden’s Ukrainian role entailed, as was Secretary of State Kerry.

On Aug. 8, 2017, CEFC Infrastructure Investment wired $5 million to the bank account for Hudson West III. These funds may have originated from a loan issued from the account of a company called Northern International Capital Holdings, a Hong Kong-based investment company identified at one time as a “substantial shareholder” in CEFC International Limited along with Ye. It is unclear whether Hunter Biden was half-owner of Hudson West III at that time. However, starting on Aug. 8, the same day the $5 million was received, and continuing through Sept. 25, 2018, Hudson West III sent frequent payments to Owasco, Hunter Biden’s firm. These payments, which were described as consulting fees, reached $4,790,375.25 in just over a year. A million of the nearly six million transferred to Hunter Biden’s law firm was then refunded, claiming that the payment was related to his firm’s representation of Jianming associate Patrick Ho — convicted of international bribery and money laundering in 2019. Ho’s legal representation in the case, though, did not include Hunter Biden’s law firm. Attorneys with the firms Krieger Kim & Lewin LLP and Dechert LLP represented Ho in the case, court records show.

On March 22, 2018, a $1 million payment was sent from Hudson West III to Owasco with a memo line for “Dr Patrick Ho Chi Ping Representation.” In his alternative explanation, Hunter Biden indicated that the misdirected $1 million was related to his representation of Ye’s associate, Patrick Ho. These transactions illustrate the financial connections between Gongwen Dong’s Hudson West III, Ye Jianming’s CEFC, and Hunter Biden’s Owasco. [Emphasis added]
Biden stated that:
Boies Schiller Flexner is co-counsel for Dr. Patrick Ho’s case. Hudson West III LLC has no involvement with Patrick Ho Chi Ping[’]s case and won[’]t expect further transaction related to Dr. Patrick Ho Chi Ping trail [sic] for Hudson West III LLC. Owasco LLC and co- Counsel Boies Schiller Flexner will represent Dr. Patrick Ho Chi Ping [at] trial. The report also reveals that at the same time Hunter Biden’s law firm was taking payments from Jianming, he was transferring money to the Lion Hall Group, a consulting firm run by Joe Biden’s brother, James Biden.
I guess all that corruption makes the Biden adultery story of secondary interest, but it does show, according to the wronged ex-husband, another Biden lie. That does not stop the Left loving him, as these creatures breed in a swamp of lies, dirt and deception.
