The Full Soul Loathes a Honeycomb; but to the Hungry Soul Every Bitter Thing is Sweet By Charles Taylor
The title of this is taken from Proverbs 27:7, from the Good Book. Now, some stories that roll onto our screens are funny, but most are horrid, but still need reporting because the world and the politics of this world are horrid too. Consider the position taken by US sanctuary cities which defy US federal law by protecting illegals, even those who have committed crimes:
“An illegal alien convicted of raping a dog to death was released by the sanctuary state of Oregon after being sentenced to just 60 days in prison. As Breitbart News reported, illegal alien Fidel Lopez, 52-years-old, was convicted last month and sentenced to 60 days in prison after raping his girlfriend’s small Lhasa Apso which led to the dog’s death. The judge in the case said he would have given the illegal alien more prison time but that 60 days is the maximum sentence allowed in Oregon. Following his sentence, Lopez was immediately released because he had already served 60 days while waiting to stand trial. Despite his illegal alien status, Multnomah County, Oregon officials released Lopez back into the community. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency had requested that the illegal alien be turned over to them for deportation should he be released from prison. The sanctuary state officials ignored the ICE request and released the illegal alien into the public. “On April 8, Lopez was convicted of sexual assault of an animal and aggravated animal abuse and sentenced to 60 days in jail with credit for time served,” ICE spokeswoman Tanya J. Roman told the New York Daily News. “The Multnomah County Jail did not honor the immigration detainer and released him without notice to ICE.” “Sanctuary policies not only provide a refuge for illegal aliens, but they also shield criminal aliens who prey on people in their own and other communities,” Roman said.”
The authorities said it, not me. This cannot end well, for it the rule of law is ignored to suit politically correct agendas, there will come at time when people will say, to hell with it all, as unfortunately leading figures like Milo Yiannopoulos are now, regretfully, saying. Of course, I do not approve, or endorse such remarks in any way, and fully advise against such remarks, but it has been said, and is important to report:
I abhor political violence. Let me be clear about that. But when someone takes away your freedom, your speech and your ability to protect yourself and your family, there aren’t many options left. At least, that’s how citizens quickly come to feel. It getting close to the time when, per America’s founding documents, citizens will start forming into well-regulated militias in preparation for the lawful defense of the Constitution. And maybe I’m the right person to sketch out how that should work. You know, maximum cell size. Encrypted comms. Like I said, I abhor violence. But civil war is coming, and, if it does, well-meaning but poorly-informed and relentlessly deplatformed conservatives are going to need a handbook.”
He seems to have fallen so hard that he no longer has any fear of the danger such fighting, possibly insurrectious, words could provoke:
It is indeed dangerous times when the intelligentsia start to think like this, but the elites are not backing off.
