I don’t know how I got onto the site, but today I was in horror, reading a Leftist environmentalist blog. I would strongly recommend that readers with a morbid desire for self-punishment have a look at the latest entries at https://carolynbaker.net/. This is a very well presented site, with highly skilled web design. But, the articles an politics, are …well… just consider…

“Useless Eaters And Ethnic Purity; The Trump/Bannon War For Biological Nationhood,” by Chris Floyd, which pushes the idea that Trump is trying to follow a Nazi agenda and create an ethnically pure state. No matter that his daughter is married to a Jewish man, and is in fact a practising  Jew herself. No, Trump wants to cut some social welfare programs (never mind that feminist icon Julia Gillard did more), and his man Stephen Bannon (spelt wrongly in one part of the article), likes French philosopher Charles Maurras, and he was a Nazi sympathiser.

Well, so were philosophical heroes of the Left such as Martin Heidegger too: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/mar/13/martin-heidegger-black-notebooks-reveal-nazi-ideology-antisemitism. Why Heidegger even had a Hitler moustache. These guys backed a loser.

There are articles about the Trump chapter in civilisation collapse, as if Hillary Clinton and the inevitability of war with Russia, would not have fast finished off their sacred environment.
And it goes on, with another article saying that America is awaiting their Reichstag fire. The narrative is that Trump is a Nazi, and these Leftoids cannot think any different. No matter that Nazi sites say that Trump is not a Nazi and lament this. There is no objective evaluation of evidence. Nor do the writers, who denigrate Trump care to think about the suffering of the working class people who voted for them.

All of this is just water off a very dirty duck’s back because the Left, especially intellectuals, if they can be called that, are intellectual idiots, in Nassim Nicholas Taleb’s sense; https://medium.com/incerto/the-intellectual-yet-idiot-13211e2d0577.

He said:
“What we have been seeing worldwide, from India to the UK to the US, is the rebellion against the inner circle of no-skin-in-the-game policymaking “clerks” and journalists-insiders, that class of paternalistic semi-intellectual experts with some Ivy league, Oxford-Cambridge, or similar label-driven education who are telling the rest of us 1) what to do, 2) what to eat, 3) how to speak, 4) how to think… and 5) who to vote for.

But the problem is the one-eyed following the blind: these self-described members of the “intelligentsia” can’t find a coconut in Coconut Island, meaning they aren’t intelligent enough to define intelligence hence fall into circularities — but their main skill is capacity to pass exams written by people like them. With psychology papers replicating less than 40%, dietary advice reversing after 30 years of fatphobia, macroeconomic analysis working worse than astrology, the appointment of Bernanke who was less than clueless of the risks, and pharmaceutical trials replicating at best only 1/3 of the time, people are perfectly entitled to rely on their own ancestral instinct and listen to their grandmothers (or Montaigne and such filtered classical knowledge) with a better track record than these policymaking goons.”

The remarks apply, I believe especially to environmentalists who believe that they have a sacred right to dominate us and macro-manage life. Oppose them to your last breathe!
