If Foetuses Can’t’ Feel Pain, Can Leftists? By Chris Knight

With some US states having banned abortion, it is only natural that the objective scientists will come out to tell us that the foetus does not feel pain, and doesn’t have a heartbeat, and in fact wants to be aborted, I guess.

“Utah recently passed a law that requires doctors to give anesthesia to a fetus prior to performing an abortion that occurs at 20 weeks of gestation or later. The law assumes that a fetus may be able to feel pain at that stage in development; however, doctors groups and other critics of the law argue that a fetus cannot feel pain at 20 weeks gestational age. Indeed, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) said it considers the case to be closed as to whether a fetus can feel pain at that stage in development.”

So, the foetus cannot feel pain at 20 weeks development? I guess the brain and central nervous system has simply been put there to ease abortion.

And, don’t worry about troublesome things like foetal hearts, which don’t really exist anyway:

“So far this year, four U.S. states have passed laws banning abortions when a fetal heartbeat can be detected, at around six weeks of pregnancy; several additional states are also considering these so-called heartbeat bills.
But what exactly do we mean when we talk about a "fetal heartbeat" at six weeks of pregnancy? Although some people might picture a heart-shaped organ beating inside a fetus, this is not the case. Rather, at six weeks of pregnancy, an ultrasound can detect "a little flutter in the area that will become the future heart of the baby," said Dr. Saima Aftab, medical director of the Fetal Care Center at Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami. This flutter happens because the group of cells that will become the future "pacemaker" of the heart gain the capacity to fire electrical signals, she said.”

Fine; but thinking this through though, how do we know that Leftists have minds? We may think that their hearts beat, and that they have a central nervous system like us, but can we really be sure? That is the problem of other minds, with a political swing, and it certainly seems puzzling to me, failed philosophy student that I am.
