Gun Ownership and Homicides By John Steele

Is there a statistical relationship between gun ownership and homicides? This interesting article says that there is not, so it supports a neutral position, which is rare:

Look, to be honest I don’t understand the statistical diagram or the attached maths because I flunked high school maths, playing footie all the time,  but I suppose it is correct. If so, then this is another nail in the gun banning coffin, since it is they, not us gun nuts, who say that more guns equal more homicides. That is not so, and even if it was, it would be a small price to pay, since, as we know from the surge of knife homicides in gun-control Britain, if someone seriously wants to kill you, they will use anything, even a big Marxist textbook. It is not practical to ban all material objects.
