George Soros is Worried; Poor Lad By Richard Miller

George Soros is worried about whether on not “Europe” will survive, what with all of those terrible nationalist/populist types. You see, “Europe” for George is defined as non-White, and based purely on eternal immigration. What we might call “Europe,” based upon traditional understandings, is simply rejected by him.

“Left-wing billionaire George Soros, in a rare op-ed, has fired a warning shot to what he describes as the “sleeping pro-European majority” ahead of the European Parliament elections in May -- saying Europe needs to "wake up before it is too late" and before nationalist parties take control. “Europe is sleepwalking into oblivion, and the people of Europe need to wake up before it is too late,” the Hungarian-American financier, known for his promotion of left-wing policies, he wrote for Project Syndicate. Soros is something of a bogeyman in right-wing circles due to his funding of left-wing causes both in Europe and the U.S. Hungary’s nationalist government recently passed a “Stop Soros” package to curtail his activities via his Open Society Foundations -- including a measure making it illegal for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to organize illegal immigration into the country. Last year, British media reported that Soros had delivered $560,000 to an anti-Brexit campaign, leading to accusations from Brexiteers that he was part of an international plot to stop Brexit and bring down the government. But with nationalist and right-wing parties on the rise in Europe, Soros is setting off alarm bells of his own. In his op-ed, he claims that “anti-European forces” will have a competitive advantage in May, when lawmakers to the European Parliament will be elected. He blames the “outdated party system” and “the lack of legal tools for disciplining member states that violate the principles on which the European Union was founded.”

“The antiquated party system hampers those who want to preserve the values on which the EU was founded, but helps those who want to replace those values with something radically different” he writes. “This is true in individual countries and even more so in trans-European alliances. While the European Parliament has typically leaned to the left on issues such as national independence, spending and immigration, the populist wave across the continent looks set to shift that. In Hungary, Viktor Orban’s Fidesz Party, running on an anti-mass migration platform won a supermajority last year. In Italy, a coalition government of the nationalist League and the populist 5-Star Movement won last year. Meanwhile in Britain, the Conservative Party is pushing forward with its plan to exit the E.U. at the end of March. Right-wingers also won elections last year in Austria and the Czech Republic. Meanwhile more globalist-minded leaders such as French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are struggling. Macron’s approval ratings have nosedived and Paris has been plagued by weekly “yellow vest” protests. In Germany, despite winning re-election in 2017, Merkel has promised to step down as chancellor before the next federal elections -- as she also fights of a rising right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD). Describing the current E.U. leadership as “reminiscent of the Politburo when the Soviet Union collapsed” Soros says it is hard to see how pro-E.U. parties can win in May “unless they put Europe’s interests ahead of their own.”

“The first step to defending Europe from its enemies, both internal and external, is to recognize the magnitude of the threat they present,” he writes. “The second is to awaken the sleeping pro-European majority and mobilize it to defend the values on which the EU was founded.”

Soros thus defines “Europe” by reference to globalist institutions such as the EU. He is not fooling anybody, and certainly not the French yellow vests. But, we are indeed fortunate to have a person such as Soros, who has made himself the unfriendly face of globalism, since these folks are very camera shy, like the abominable snowman, the Yeti, only less friendly, and probably not as “sexy.” Well, I am only guessing because they seldom show their faces. Worse, for George’s friends, there is now attention being paid to banking and finance, and this is where things get really interesting, since money is the scared cow, of sacred cows:

“On Friday, in a moment of predictive insight, Bank of America correctly warned that the greatest threat to EPS - i.e., markets - in the next 3 years "is an acceleration of global populism via taxation, regulation & government intervention." Just one day later, this warning to the financial establishment was starkly manifest in that ground zero for Europe's populist revolt, Italy, where the country's coalition government hinted at where the global populist wave is headed next when he slammed the country’s central bank leadership and stock market regulator, escalating its attacks on establishment figures ahead of the European parliamentary vote in May. Matteo Salvini, the outspoken head of the anti-immigrant League party, said the Bank of Italy and Consob, the country’s stock market regulator, should be "reduced to zero, more than changing one or two people, reduced to zero", or in other words eliminated, and that “fraudsters” who inflicted losses on Italian savers should "end up in prison for a long time."

As the FT notes, this latest broadside against Italy’s financial establishment comes as the two parties which are increasingly at odds with each other amid speculation Salvini may hold elections to become the sole leader of Italy, prepare to run against each other in the European parliamentary elections in May, a contest widely seen as a proxy for national polls. Meanwhile, both leaders have also increased their attacks against targets including the EU and French president Emmanuel Macron. Confirming the rising animosity between the two coalition partners, the League and Five Star have openly squabbled over the future of an Alpine rail line and migration, while the two leaders’ repeated attacks against France which culminated with Di Maio meeting the leaders of the anti-Macron Yellow Vest moment, triggered a diplomatic crisis which last week saw Paris recall its ambassador from Rome.”

Clearly, for the globalists, populism is getting out of control. Normally, this is the time to manipulate another country to destroy them in war, making plenty of profits on the side, Mother Courage-style. But when we have such vast numbers of countries beginning revolt, the globalists have only one option, and that is a nuclear holocaust of the entire planet, so that not a single populist lizard survives. It is the only way to be sure:
