Free Advice for Channel 10 By James Reed

Hard Coviddy times are upon us. Channel 10 is feeling the pinch and is letting go of super-fantastic Kerri-Anne Kennerley, whom I have had a crush on for about 70 years, if that is legal.

And they do this to this shining example of health and fitness for ageing women:

“Network Ten is axing more jobs across its television news operations, with all state news to be presented in Sydney and Melbourne with just one national weather presenter. The Australian understands that Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Natarsha Belling and weatherman Tim Bailey will be leaving as part of the changes. There will also be some changes to the presentation of its morning talk show Studio 10 but no specific details were released.
“These painful changes reflect the state of the media industry in recent years and the need for all media companies to achieve new efficiencies,” Ten’s director of news content, Ross Dagan, said in a statement on Tuesday. “While our viewers in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth will see some on-air changes, we will continue to produce local news and employ local reporters, camera operators and production staff in those cities.” ViacomCBS’s local content boss Beverley McGarvey said the decisions were “not being made lightly, however, they are essential to future-proofing our business”.

That calls for the James Reed response help Channel 10 out, since I remember well their first day of broadcast, wet like a new-born piglet. What an exciting day it was too. In fact, I remember the first day of TV in Australia: “Welcome to television.” Those were the days. Then there was hope, with only nuclear annihilation to worry about. Anyway, what is needed is to give high school and university students work experience, and let them fill all the spots. Why, I don’t think they need to be paid if on Centrelink. Or, fill it with real homeless people, bums and hobos who are on Centrelink, people with mental health and drug  issues and all the rest, to give them a chance in life. That would be cheap, and good TV too, something the ordinary person could relate to. No more smart-a talk, just basic level grunts and thuds as the show must go on. It could be not just “break a leg,” but “break a neck,” maybe.

In any case get rid of what I believe is  the infuriating, hair-pulling Left-leaning woke politically correct current affairs show, The Projectile, hosted by Waleed Aly and Carrie Bickmore. It should have been first on the chopping block, but being Left, it is left.
