A little while back someone, and it could be me, memory fails me with work overload, covered the story of the Hollywood movie The Hunting, that was set to be released. Its pathetic story was that a group of elites got to hunt down and kill Trump supporters, and this was explicit. Then there were the two shooting sprees, one from the Right and the other from the Left, and the new class decided that they needed to capitalise on the opportunity of portraying all people right to Trump as killers, and this too was stated explicitly. Anyway, now Hollywood has got cold feet about its “beautiful” movie:

     The Leftoid gun banner typically argues that where there is some shooting with deaths and injuries, that the gun and the person is at fault, but mainly the guns. No guns, no shooting; simple. Just forget about illegal guns, seen most dramatically in gun-controlled places like Mexico and Chicago. But, what about murders with hammers and other blunt melee weapons and tools?

“The most recent FBI crime stats show that more people were killed in 2017 with hammers and clubs than were killed with rifles of any kind. Breitbart News reported the most recent numbers–those for 2017–on September 26, 2018. Those figures showed that 467 people were killed with “blunt objects (hammers, clubs, etc.),” while 403 were killed with rifles. And it must be noted that the category of “rifles” used by the FBI includes bolt action, pump action, single shot, and semi-automatic, as well as those the left describes as “assault weapons.” This means only a percentage of the 403 deaths attributed to “rifles” would have been carried out with an “assault weapon.” So, the gap between the number of persons beaten to death with hammers and clubs verses those killed with “assault weapons” would be even greater than the gap between those who died in a hammer/club attack versus those who died being shot with “rifles” of any kind. Breitbart News also reported that the 2017 crime figures showed 1,591 people were killed with “knives or cutting instruments” while 403 were killed with “rifles.” This means nearly four times as many people were stabbed to death as were killed with any kind of rifle. (The gap between the number stabbed to death and the number of persons explicitly killed with an “assault weapon” would be even greater.) Yet Democrats are pushing an “assault weapons” ban and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) says legislation for such a ban will be “front and center” when the Senate reconvenes.”

     Israel and Iran are already at war, with Israel attacking Iranian military targets within Syria. These were Iran-run bases, attacked by F-35 jets. Iran could retaliate by hitting targets within Israel which will set off the long-awaited Middle East War. Israel could use nuclear weapons if it was felt that there was an existential threat created. So would I if I had them and my flat was under attack, although the paradox is that I would go down in the bang. That would be interesting.

To The Australian        Labor senator Pat Dodson is the latest Aboriginal leader to damage his cause ("Leaders fear loss of 'Anglo imprint'", 10-11/8). Insulting us by claiming erroneously that "Australia has very little to celebrate in its own right" apart from democracy is amazingly foolish. Has Dodson forgotten the heroism of the early explorers, the industry of the pioneers, the Anzac spirit and the proud record of our men and women at war, the dedicated leadership that led to Federation, the planting of churches across the continent, the works of our artists from Elioth Gruner and Norman Lindsay to Wlliam Dargie and John Brack, our literary tradition that runs from Banjo Paterson and Henry Lawson to Patrick White and Martin Boyd? He is misleading to complain about "the Anglo-Celtic imprint on this nation". Australia really is an Anglo-Celtic nation. As for his feigned blindness to the reasons for Australians' fear of Aboriginal constitutional recognition, it is as reprehensible as his claim that there has been a longstanding failure of magnanimity towards Aboriginals.      Pain and sleep deprivation can make one think in strange ways. For example, over this weekend, the last of my molar teeth gave out, having a super-abscess, the worst a human being could have. Red hot nails hammered through my mouth into my brain, what remains of it. Naturally I investigated what dentists were available I found one that would get out of bed for the starting price of $ 500, and “that’s if I decide to extract.” No thanks, I can’t contribute to your golf club fees, I will suffer on up until the point where I get a pair of pliers and pull the tooth out myself. If I bleed to death, well that will be another testimony to the splendour of this cesspool.

     Consequently, there will be new red flag laws, similar to what exists in socialist countries like yours (Australia), where if the authorities think that you are a “problem” they can take your guns, and probably lock you up, or get a psychiatrist, USSR style, to lock you up – all without due process of the law. To The Age        Anthony Albanese is being unrealistic on Aboriginal affairs ("Albanese in Indigenous 'voice' push", 3/8). The "gap" in living conditions between Aboriginals and the rest of us is unlikely to be closed, because of the lower intellectual capacities of Aboriginals as a group. Facing realities of ethnic differences is scientific; not facing them is superstitious and political opportunism. Asserting that "we are all diminished" if the Constitution is not invaded to satisfy selfish demands from "indigenous" leaders is just hot air, as is the belligerence shown towards the Constitution by an Aboriginal leader at the current Garma festival. As for any manufactured "bipartisanship" among the major political parties, that won't alter the resistance by ordinary Australians to a policy of national suicide. Ken Wyatt should go further than warn of problems if a referendum fails. He should admit that this particular campaign is a dead duck with the punters.

To The Australian     David Hind asks of Australians generally (9/8): "What are we afraid of?" Why the opposition to Aboriginal constitutional recognition? Well, immediately I'm afraid of the damage such a move would do to the Constitution, which currently treats all of us on equal terms. I'm worried about the abandonment of ethical principle involved. Also, I don't welcome the prospect of unelected judges of the High Court being given more power at the expense of parliament, especially when I consider the court's track record from Mabo until its latest damage to free speech. Finally, I fear that foolish change of our political order could lead to a quasi-Marxist tyranny here and/or the setting up of an Aboriginal nation (thanks to the extension of land rights legislation) which might invite China to become its ally. Will the anti-gun lobby now advocate gun control so enthusiastically or will they wait until the next round of shootings? If terrorism, according to the mayor of London, is just the price one pays living in a big modern city, then mass shooting could be viewed as an extension of that principle. But, we can bet that the narrative played out is that ideology had nothing to do with this. But, if a shooter mentions an 1890 book on Darwinism, well, that is fascism, pure and simple.

•     If the EU approves the visa waiver, tens of millions of Turks will gain immediate and unimpeded access to Europe's passport-free zone. Critics of visa liberalization fear that millions of Turkish nationals may end up migrating to Europe. The Austrian newsmagazine, Wochenblick, reported that 11 million Turks are living in poverty and "many of them are dreaming of moving to central Europe."
