I have written previously, that the present moral panic and outing of so-called sexual predators, is part of an agenda to ultimately take down Trump, by creating a hyper-paranoid culture of fear. We can see numerous photographs of actresses who have claimed sexual abuse, laughing with the alleged abusers.  Why was the crime left unreported for years?  Doesn’t this leave other women open to predatation? Isn’t there a moral duty to report such alleged crimes? Some actresses say that in doing so would have affected their careers. What! So you put your career over helping other women, and preventing them too becoming victims of sexual assault.

     In these situations, while there are always numerous genuine cases, there is though, often a less than hidden agenda. The agenda is to get Trump. After all, it was attempted before, and he is weak in the women area, and thus vulnerable:

For example, it may exaggerate the significance of Antipodean Resistance, which is very likely an annoying gnat rather than a dangerous tiger.
     While it goes without saying that anti-Semitic fanaticism needs to be both publicly condemned and checked by appropriate legal safeguards, Jewish groups at times engage in unwise public actions and statements which unnecessarily draw opposition to Jews generally. Responsible conservative opinion is at times defamed under coloured language such as ‘far right’ and ‘neo-Nazi’. The belated and protracted campaign against ‘Nazi war criminals’, the persecution of revisionist historians and attempts to discount the reality of formidable Jewish political and financial power in the modern world have not helped win friends.

     Please allow me to comment on the article ‘No spilt milk for dairy farmers’, (Leader, November 8, 2017). This report is another tragedy in the sorry saga of Australian industry.
     Murray Goulburn Cooperative Dairy Company started on the faith of a few farmers and dedicated executives about 60 years ago in Cobram to become one of the greatest dairy cooperatives in the Southern Hemisphere. Now the final chapter is being written by Saputo—why?

     Not long ago it was Ardmona Fruit Preserving Company, a world leader in its class, and Shepparton Preserving Company (SPC) being amalgamated then finally being downsized in a takeover by an ‘international conglomeration’.
All three companies were leaders in their class and managed by ‘smart’ people but some extraneous force they could not understand finally overcame their efforts to remain ‘financially viable’.
     This same ‘force’ has been involved in the destruction of many primary and secondary industries which is accompanied by misery and heartbreak for individuals and their families.

     Once upon a time Australia was attractive to processing, refining and manufacturing industries using our abundant mineral and food resources, our reliable low-cost coal-fired electricity and a workforce trained in technical skills.  No longer.

     Australia used to have 11 oil refineries, spread around the country. There are just 4 left, all over fifty years old, and all in danger of closing down. Green barriers to oil exploration have forced most of them to rely on costly imported crude oil.
     Now, for the first time in at least 60 years Australia no longer produces motor vehicles.

     The Rhodesian Front rule under Ian Smith was an unusually noble political order and it is a tragedy that it was sabotaged by a combination of African terrorists, international meddlers and foolish idealists.  Smith and his colleagues rightly sought to maintain law and order and civilized standards in their land, after observing the disasters that had occurred in other ‘liberated’ African nations, most notably the Belgian Congo.  They recognized that fruitful advancement of Rhodesian Africans needed to be achieved slowly; and had they been left alone, these peoples would have fared far better than they did under Mugabe.

     All this will apparently be solved by a round of by-elections.  Many pollies want a referendum to get rid of section 44 (i) of the constitution.
     Instead, how about politicians getting their act together and obeying the Constitution before standing? Section 44 (i) is perfectly clear, and there is no excuse for not obeying it.
     Beyond this, we need to ask how the ineligibility of the various politicians affects votes on laws which have occurred.  If someone was ineligible to hold office, they were also ineligible to vote.  Consequently there needs to be an audit of how laws might be affected.  Nothing has been said by the politicians about this, their only concern is how to sweep everything under the carpet.
