Organic Food, Great; Organic Farming Not So Great (If You Still Believe in the Religion of Climate Change) By James Reed

Fanatic in residence here to unload on organic farming. Don’t get me wrong, the odd drop of orgasmic, I mean organic, Word stop wrecking my article, food, like wine is good, but let’s consider how we get there:
  https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-50129353

“A new study suggests that a switch to 100% organic food production in England and Wales would see an overall increase in greenhouse gas emissions. While going fully organic would produce fewer direct emissions than conventional farming, researchers say it would limit food production. As a result more imports would be needed, resulting in up to five times more land being used overseas. Overall emissions could rise by 21% compared to the conventional approach. Farming is generally estimated to be responsible for around 9% of overall UK greenhouse gas emissions, due to the use of artificial fertilisers, but also through emissions of methane from animals and from changes in soil conditions. This new study aims to assess what the impact would be on greenhouse gases if all food production in England and Wales switched to organic. Such a move, the researchers say would see a drop in emissions of about 20% for crops and around 4% for livestock. However, the study predicts significant drops in food production, by around 40% compared to conventional farming. The scientists involved say that decrease is due to smaller crop yields and the introduction of nitrogen-fixing legumes into crop rotations, reducing the amount of land available for production. So crops like wheat and barley would see significant falls in production. For livestock, the numbers of sheep and beef cattle in the scenario would increase but the volume of meat would go down, due to lower carcase weights and longer finishing times under organic management.”

The I am Legend Vaccine By Mrs Vera West

This reminds me of the movie I am Legend (2007), where a genetically engineered cancer vaccine goes wrong and destroys the human race, but that was a movie, and what could go wrong with a vaccine?
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-10-10-who-unicef-admit-polio-outbreaks-caused-by-vaccines.html

“After nearly two decades of having been declared “polio free” by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Philippines is now experiencing its first polio outbreak in 19 years – and authorities are actually admitting that the cause was the polio vaccine itself! Health Secretary Francisco Duque III announced at a recent press conference that at least one person, a three-year-old girl in the southern Lanao del Sur province, has contracted the virus, which has also been detected in waterways throughout the southern Davao region, as well as in sewage in Manila. These three vector points are enough to declare an official polio outbreak, officials say, which is creating something of a panic as polio was previously thought to have been completely eradicated. “As long as one single child remains infected, children across the country and even beyond are at risk of contracting polio,” added UNICEF Philippines representative Oyun Dendevnorov in a statement. In a joint statement, both the WHO and UNICEF admitted that the type of poliovirus that’s currently spreading is vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2, which once again means that vaccines are the source and cause of this first-in-nearly-20-years polio outbreak. “The weakened virus used in vaccines replicates for a short time in children’s intestines and is excreted in their feces,” writes Carley Petesch for the Associated Press (AP). “In rare instances … the weakened virus can strengthen in areas with poor sanitation and hygiene.”

Brain Implants the Next Monster Cab of the Rank By Brian Simpson

The next big thing, on the way to replacing the human being by thinking machines will be brain implants to create cyborg, human machine hybrids, because the technocrats simply can’t help themselves, and if it can be done, it must be done, even if the universe is destroyed … because … science …
  https://www.technocracy.news/can-ai-brain-implants-give-people-superhuman-intelligence/

“Brain-boosting electrodes will soon become “like plastic surgery” as all we race to get cybernetic enhancements. Humans will be turned into cyborgs — with scientists sticking AI implants deep into their brains. Brain-zapping electrodes have treated seizure patients with promising results, and bizarre and unexpected side-effects of calmness and positivity means they are now being probed as a radical treatment for depression. It’s even theorised that the electric implants can be manipulated to make users max out their brain power — similarly to how amphetamines like Adderall are abused today. Science power couple Kelly and Zach Weinersmith explored the exciting advancements in their brand new book “Soonish – Ten Emerging Technologies That’ll Improve And/Or Ruin Everything”. The pair reckon that brain-boosting electrodes will soon become “like plastic surgery” — with people spending shedloads in order to become smarter and stay ahead of the pack. One in four top academics currently abuses amphetamines, according to the Weinersmiths. “As brain-computer interface technology becomes more reliable, it may have implications in many industries,” they wrote. “An ideal brain-computer interface can make you smarter, better at remembering things, more focused, and perhaps even more creative.

Lo, the New Black Death By Brian Simpson and John Steele

The collapse of society from pandemic disease is one of the least popular existential threats, since this basically wipes out everyone crowed like chooks in pens of the modern city. Disease will spread rapidly in these modern cesspools, with the potential to devastate the human race, quickly:
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-10-28-are-you-prepared-for-the-next-black-death.html

“From malaria, to Ebola, or even the flu, tons of diseases break out and kill hundreds or even thousands of people every year. Any of these diseases could easily turn into an epidemic. For example, in 2017 an outbreak of the bubonic plague – the same plague that killed 60 percent of Europe in the 14th century – and the pneumonic plague swept through the island nation of Madagascar, infecting over 2,348 people and causing at least 202 deaths. The next Black Death could be just around the corner. Experts believe that the next big pandemic could kill up to 80 million people. They even claim that the world is woefully unprepared for it. It’s time that you broke from the mold. Here are several things you can do to keep yourself safe if and when that day comes. (h/t to BioPrepper.com)

Polar Bears Now Given an Icy Reception by Greenies By James Reed

Would polar bears be tasty? Would polar bear steaks be tender and juicy, roasting away while one sat in an igloo, the icy winds raging outside? No doubt there are a few remaining indigenous people, inuits, who would know the answer to that question, but we shall never know. I mean polar bears are heading to extinction because of global warming, getting caught on the last remaining crusts of ice, and thus drowning trying to find something solid. Didn’t big Al Gore tell us that “inconvenient truth”? Think again fellow meat eaters:

“You probably won’t be seeing too many polar bears in the mainstream media anymore now that the climate brigade has decided to drop the furry arctic animal from its propaganda lineup. The reason, as we recently reported, has to do with the fact that, contrary to the prevailing climate narrative, polar bear numbers are increasing, not decreasing. In other words, despite the alleged pandemic of “global warming” and melting polar ice caps, polar bears are doing just fine – so well, in fact, that in some areas hunters are being encouraged to kill more of them in order to thin out their population numbers. Hilariously, The Guardian (U.K.) actually made a formal announcement about the removal of polar bears from its climate change propaganda, insisting that it’s more effective to use people rather than animals in conveying the “climate emergency.” After seeking advice from an organization called “Climate Visuals,” The Guardian‘s editors decided that continuing to feature polar bears, and apparently pandas, as “emblems” of climate change is imprudent, if not entirely inaccurate. “Often, when signalling environmental stories to our readers, selecting an image of a polar bear on melting ice has been the obvious – though not necessarily appropriate choice,” The Guardian reporter Fiona Shields writes. “These images tell a certain story about the climate crisis but can seem remote and abstract – a problem that is not a human one, nor one that is particularly urgent,” she goes on to explain.”

Eat Worms to Save the Planet? (I Would Rather let the Planet Melt) By James Reed

The climate elites want us deplorables to mainly eat worms and insects to reduce our carbon footprint. These are the people who travel to climate talkfests by jets, eating all matter of fine foods in their trips and at the conferences, smoked salmon, caviar, tasty meats …
  https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/10/21/the-guardian-un-climate-report-requires-an-urgent-switch-to-an-insect-protein-diet/

“The thought of rising sea levels and more intense heatwaves are enough to keep you up at night. But while we all know the situation is getting more serious, most of us are preoccupied with work, doctor’s appointments and paying bills – and these immediate, visceral worries win every time. There isn’t much time left to figure out how to bring global warming closer to the forefront of people’s minds and persuade us to reduce our carbon footprints. In fact, we have just 12 years left to keep global warming to 1.5C, according to last week’s landmark UN report. Anything beyond this will massively worsen the risks of drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty for hundreds of millions of people. Reducing our meat intake is crucial to avoiding climate breakdown, since food production accounts for about a quarter of all human-related greenhouse gas emissions, and is predicted to rise. In western countries, this means eating 90% less beef and five times as many beans and pulses.

Eating Dogs? By James Reed

If one eats dog meat, while the meat is hot, does that count as a “hot dog”? Since the environmentalists are moving on banning meat eating, for us, I have become obsessed with meat eating. Why, just the other day, I penned an article which I dimly remember, where I speculated about the taste of polar bear! That is how desperate a man can be for meat, glorious meat. And, I am not the only one suffering from meat angst. Just ask the Chinese if you please, who are in the pig apocalypse at the moment:
  https://www.wnd.com/2019/10/china-turning-dog-meat-pork-prices-skyrocket/?utm_source=facebook&utm_content=2019-10-25&fbclid=IwAR1fmEbCAwR2zkMUkbHg7nmPGiB2DZTt7XGC_0ZcXxJ03sov3SGfZJo8Q-o

“As the price of pork, the most popular meat in China, continues to skyrocket in the wake of a livestock epidemic, citizens of the communist nation are turning to dog meat as a substitute. Pork prices have shot up 69 percent thanks to the market-killing effects of African swine fever, putting the meat out of reach for many Chinese. As the South China Morning Post reports, consumers with a tight budget are choosing cheaper alternatives to pork. Restaurants are now suggesting patrons choose dog meat, also referred to as "fragrant meat" in China and "sweet meat" in nearby North Korea, to keep the price of dishes down. Dog, along with rabbit, is also becoming more common in markets as having pork makes shoppers a target of hungry thieves, according to the SCMP. In one market, the only cut of hog cheaper than rabbit is a leg bone without a single scrap of meat attached. Dogs and rabbits, which both reproduce in great numbers and are relatively hardy, have become some of the cheapest meats available to residents of China. While eating dog meat is considered taboo in much of the Western world, China and other countries have a long history of dining on man's best friend.”

How Can Small Businesses Survive This? By James Reed

Not all bad things from the law come from deliberate attempts to do evil. Sometimes there are situations of genuine harm, but politicians react by firing off more laws, when most often the problems are complex social problems that will not be solved just by further red tape. Here is an example:
  https://www.theaustralian.com.au/nation/politics/bosses-in-frame-for-workers-suicides-in-victoria/news-story/c8a3f4edf0263fe60221341c680d3be6?utm_source=The%20Australian&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=editorial&utm_content=TodaySHeadlines

“Negligent bosses could face up to 20 years in jail or multi-million-dollar fines over the suicide of their employees under workplace manslaughter laws proposed by the Victorian government. Under the tough new laws, an employer could be held liable if a worker committed suicide as a result of sustained workplace bullying and the employer, aware of the abuse, did not take action to reasonably guard against or respond to the conduct.
The new workplace manslaughter offence, if legislated, will apply to all workplace fatalities, including those resulting from mental as well as physical injuries. Victorian Attorney-General Jill Hennessy said an employer could face liability for a suicide where an employee's mental health had been “brutalised” at work, and the employer had rejected the worker's requests for assistance. She said the criminal standard of negligence would have to be met and causation established. “The standard is very high because the penalty is very high,” she said, adding the offence would not be easy to prove. Under the proposed legislation, a suicide found to be a direct result of negligent workplace practices and policies that substantially contribute to the death could constitute workplace manslaughter. Victorian Trades Hall Council secretary Luke Hilakari said 30 workers died each year in Victoria at work and tens of thousands were injured annually. “As long as every worker comes home from work, no boss needs to be jailed,’’ he said. “Until that happens, maybe there does need to be some bosses who go to jail and that will be the lesson.”

The Illusion of Cooperative Globalism By James Reed

Too Embarrassed to Pee? Well, Embrace the Diversity (and That’s Poetry!) By Mrs Vera West

It seems that all social advances, such as transgender toilets, which is the modern West’s counter to Russian and Chinese advancement in boring things like missile and space technology, have a price, which must be met, in the name of diversity:
  https://www.rt.com/uk/470350-unisex-toilets-primary-school/

“Parents of students of a London primary school are complaining that it has introduced gender-neutral toilets without warning and now some girls are too embarrassed to use the facilities, which may potentially harm their health. The Deanesfield Primary School in western London teaches children aged 4-11. When the summer break ended in September, parents of pupils were surprised to find that toilets at the school are now unisex. Some parents complained that their girls would rather endure a full bladder than use a facility they share with boys. “Girls are being forced to hold themselves until they get home which could damage kidneys. My friend's daughter has been holding herself all day because she’s so embarrassed. It’s not fair on the kids really,” one parent told MyLondon news website. The situation is made more difficult by the flawed design of the toilet cubicles, which don’t have floor-to-ceiling walls. This makes peeking quite easy, and indeed, parents say, there have been cases of boys looking over the tops at girls on the toilet. Mail on Sunday says the situation at Deanesfield is far from being an isolated incident. Both primary and secondary schools in the UK are being pressured by advocates of transgender rights to switch to unisex toilets. This can cause all kind of harm to girls uncomfortable with the arrangement, who may skip school, risk dehydration and take other actions to avoid the embarrassment. Stephanie Davies-Arai, from the parent campaign group Transgender Trend, told the Mail some activists trick schools into making the switch by falsely claiming that it was demanded by equality laws.”

How Much Plastic Would You Like With Your Tea? By David Smith

A soothing cup of hot tea may be just what your body needs to boost phytochemicals and other nutrients. But did you know you may also be drinking 11.6 billion microplastic pieces and 3.1 billion nanoplastics with every cup of tea? Researchers from McGill University recently published the results of a study4 in which they analyzed plastic pollution released from tea bags. They questioned whether plastic tea bags were releasing microplastics or nanoplastics after being submerged in hot water during the brewing process.5 They used four commercial products packaged in plastic tea bags. The tea leaves were removed to ensure any plastic particles in the tea did not contaminate the analysis of the tea bags. The empty bags were then placed in hot water to simulate the brewing process. The water was evaluated using an electron microscope, in which the team found a single bag released billions of particles. The researchers report this contamination is at a level thousands of times greater than has been reported with other foods and beverages. In addition to analyzing the amount of plastic released, the team also sought to determine the effect the particles may have on small aquatic organisms. Using water fleas, which are commonly used to model organisms in environmental studies, the researchers found that when treated with the microparticles and nanoparticles from the tea bags, the organisms survived but demonstrated anatomical and behavioral abnormalities.

No Veggies … We are American! By Charles Taylor

Why do American toilets smell so bad? Garbage in; garbage out.
  https://www.studyfinds.org/stunning-survey-reveals-1-in-4-adults-has-never-eaten-vegetables/

“The most popular vegetable in America is — corn! That’s according to a survey of 2,000 Americans who were asked which vegetables they liked and disliked the most. However, it turns out the most surprising result of the study may be that a staggering number of adults haven’t eaten any vegetables their entire lives. Overall, a whopping 91.4% of respondents enjoy eating corn. Potatoes came in an extremely close second at 91.2%, while carrots and tomatoes were tied for the third-most-liked vegetable at 89%. Rounding out the top five are onions and green beans, which tied as the fifth-most popular veggies (87%) according to the survey, which was commissioned on behalf of VeggieTracker.com by Dr. Praeger’s. On the other side of the spectrum, the most hated vegetable is turnips. Nearly three in ten respondents (27%) say they dislike the root veggie. Beets were a close second on the dislike list, at 26%, with radishes (23%), and brussels sprouts (21%) rounding out the bottom four. The survey also reveals some shocking numbers — and perhaps a telling truth about the American diet. One in four respondents say they’ve actually never eaten a vegetable at all! And of those who do eat vegetables, the average person only includes veggies in a third of their meals. “Most of us already know they should be eating more vegetables. While more and more people are adopting plant-based diets, there’s still a long way to go toward reaching recommended consumption levels,” says Larry Praeger, CEO of Dr. Praeger’s, in a statement.”

Venezuelan is Showing the Way on Medical Advancements! By Michael Ferguson

Look, we will be in the same situation soon. Have you tried to see a doctor, only to find them all booked up, and when you do get in, they dismiss your pains, those pins and needles sensations in your toes, write a prescription for some proton potion and send you out to hustle in then, the next billable patient? Well over in Venezuela, some people think that they have the answer to this problem:
  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7549571/Venezuelans-turn-shamans-spiritual-healers-treatment-amid-shortage-critical-medicine.html

“A chronic medicine shortage in Venezuela is seeing more people turn to alternative medicine for treatment. It is a move that could put thousands of chronically-ill people in the crisis-wracked South American nation at risk of dying. However, with Venezuela's chronic medicine shortages and hyperinflation there seems to be little choice for those desperately in need of treatment. Humanitarian aid in recent months has led to a small improvement in the availability of medical supplies - but those working in the sector say shortages continue to plague the health-care system. The country's pharmacists' federation say pharmacies and hospitals have on average only about 20 per cent of the medicine stock needed. And as a result Venezuela's opposition parties say some 300,000 chronically ill people are in danger of dying from the shortages of medicines. All across Venezuela, but particularly in poor areas like Petare, patients cannot hope to afford the price of medicines that due to the economic crisis, have become exceedingly rare and expensive. And so they are looking to alternatives for treatment.”

Too Bad Zantac Bites the Dust By Mrs Vera West

“A popular heartburn drug has been withdrawn from sale after it was found to carry a cancer-causing substance. Zantac – sold over the counter - is among eight types of the heartburn drug ranitidine that have been recalled from pharmacies, supermarkets, online stores and other retail outlets. The products were contaminated with an impurity called N nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA). As well as heartburn, the ranitidine products can be used to treat stomach acid, reflux and ulcers. The move came after concerns long-term exposure to NDMA was found to increase a person's chances of developing cancer. The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is advising people to consider alternative medicines.’

In Praise of Red Meat By Mrs Vera West

Nothing fills the gut better than a plate of red meat with plenty of vegetables to wash the divine food down. Of course, eating red meat, indeed, any meat, has come under attack in recent times from crazed feral Greenies, furry vegans and other vectors of the modern regime. But despair not, for not all red meat news is bad, or “red.” First, comes methodological problems in meat research, or at least the critique of meat:
  https://apnews.com/968e18606fba4a3c8084d2c83e0ffe56

“A team of international researchers recently rattled the nutrition world by saying there isn’t enough evidence to tell people to cut back on red or processed meat, seemingly contradicting advice from prominent health experts and groups including the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. …The dispute lays bare problems with nutrition research long acknowledged in the scientific world: Nutrition studies are almost never conclusive, and whatever supposed risk and benefits there are to any food are often oversimplified. “People like bumper sticker guidance,” said Dr. Walter Willett, a professor of nutrition at Harvard who has led studies tying meat to bad health. Now health experts are wrestling with how solid scientific findings should be before guidance is issued, how to address biases that might skew conclusions and whether the pleasure we get from eating should be considered. The scrutiny is likely to spill over to other dietary advice as obesity becomes an ever more critical public health concern, and people become increasingly frustrated with flip-flopping messages.

Life On Mars? By Brian Simpson

Is, or was there, life on Mars? One line of thought has it that life has been discovered but covered up because it would be too threatening to orthodox beliefs, such as religion.
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-10-16-life-on-mars-in-1976-nasa-banned-experiments-hide-science.html

However, I very much doubt that the discovery of bacteria on another planet really threatens Christianity in any way. After all, we deal with evolution here and all that, so bacteria on another world should not be a problem. Even in the case of the encounter with an advanced alien civilisation, that does not mean much about the foundations of religion. If their bug-eyed theologians disagree, then that is just like the debates on Earth with our bug-eyed theologians. But if the aliens were human-like, and also believed in Christianity, that would be a startling confirmation of Christianity, making it simply irrational not to believe, because the probability of that religion arising by chance in two distinct worlds is infinitesimal. It would still mean that a lot of questions would be raised, but no more than theology does now.
