China’s Rape Camps By James Reed

The Left have not spoken a word about this, but anything challenging open borders is racist, and hell, it makes you fit for being bashed to death, which is the  way of the radical Left, as seen by vicious attacks upon innocent Trump supporters:

How Much Plastic Would You Like With Your Tea? By David Smith

A soothing cup of hot tea may be just what your body needs to boost phytochemicals and other nutrients. But did you know you may also be drinking 11.6 billion microplastic pieces and 3.1 billion nanoplastics with every cup of tea? Researchers from McGill University recently published the results of a study4 in which they analyzed plastic pollution released from tea bags. They questioned whether plastic tea bags were releasing microplastics or nanoplastics after being submerged in hot water during the brewing process.5 They used four commercial products packaged in plastic tea bags. The tea leaves were removed to ensure any plastic particles in the tea did not contaminate the analysis of the tea bags. The empty bags were then placed in hot water to simulate the brewing process. The water was evaluated using an electron microscope, in which the team found a single bag released billions of particles. The researchers report this contamination is at a level thousands of times greater than has been reported with other foods and beverages. In addition to analyzing the amount of plastic released, the team also sought to determine the effect the particles may have on small aquatic organisms. Using water fleas, which are commonly used to model organisms in environmental studies, the researchers found that when treated with the microparticles and nanoparticles from the tea bags, the organisms survived but demonstrated anatomical and behavioral abnormalities.

Letter to The Editor - That is what lies ahead for them, too, if they let slip this chance for escape from totalitarianism

To The Age         It is good to read that "there are a lot of ideologues on the hard Brexit wing who care more for principle than consequences" ("Brexit deal hangs in the balance", 19/10). Such a position is ethically valid. It sounds as though Nigel Farage is correct in stating that Boris Johnson's withdrawal agreement with the EU "isn't Brexit." In that case, let's hope it is defeated in the House of Commons as were its Theresa May prototypes. Britons eager to have their nation reclaim its full sovereignty and traditional protection of free speech must not let themselves be fooled by threats or cajolery. They should note the recent EU Court of Human Rights dismissal of an appeal by German politician Udo Pastore against an unjust conviction for speaking his mind in parliament. That is what lies ahead for them, too, if they let slip this chance for escape from totalitarianism.

Letter to The Editor - This piddling withdrawal deal should be defeated emphatically in the House of Commons

To The Australian        Your editorial ("Only viable Brexit deal on offer", 19-20/10) must be one of the worst in the history of your newspaper and is deeply disappointing to those of us who advocate a genuine Brexit that unequivocally honours the 2016 referendum result. In advising acceptance of what seems to be another pseudo-Brexit proposal you manage somehow to omit any reference to the two key issues, which are the restoration of full national sovereignty and the protection of the principle of free speech which has been fatally cast aside by the EU's Court of Human Rights. As to the latter, that court's recent dismissal of an appeal by German politician Udo Pastore against an unjust conviction for speaking his mind in parliament on a controversial topic is the latest example of tyranny riding rampant through a context of legal dishonesty and chicanery. Those "28 hardline Brexit 'Spartans'" are surely right that Boris Johnson has compromised with the EU too much. This piddling withdrawal deal should be defeated emphatically in the House of Commons.

Letter to The Editor - The profound development that has occurred on this continent in the last three centuries cannot be undone

To The Age         Lorenza Nolan claims (18/10) that "we" (the term is vague) "stole" the land of what is now Victoria from "the First Nations people". She supports the signing of a treaty to redress the situation. There is idealism in this view of things, but also folly and injustice. In another way of looking at things the Aboriginal tribes living here failed to defend their territory from the incoming settlers. The world of Nature, of which mankind is a part, operates continually in a mode of contest between stronger and weaker individuals and groups. This pattern is not necessarily of itself to be condemned as immoral or unethical. An eternal crying over spilt milk is unhelpful. The profound development that has occurred on this continent in the last three centuries cannot be undone. It can, and should be, shared by all Australians, not stolen in a new kind of theft by a few ideologues to satisfy political fantasies and what is really self-aggrandising politicking.
  Nigel Jackson, Belgrave

Letter to The Editor - Contrary to Australia's real interests

To The Australian        The proposal by the City of Port Phillip to hold "a morning of mourning" on Australia Day is unwise ("Wyatt backs proposal for 'morning of mourning'", 18/10). It is really too late in the day; and, psychologically speaking, it is unhealthy to grieve beyond a reasonable length of time. Also, Liberal MP Tim Smith is right to oppose the idea as being part of the current tendency of local government to "insert itself into issues of national and international politics". That can lead to an unnecessary complication of political activity in the nation to the detriment of sound local government. Moreover, in the present context of an unwelcome push from some quarters to facilitate a nationwide movement of Aboriginal separatism, the council's decision can be seen as divisive and contrary to Australia's real interests.

Diversity Erodes Social Capital By Paul Walker

Over the years a few brave academics have published research challenging the myth that diversity is an intrinsic strength. It should not be surprising since many homogeneous countries such as Japan do well, and most ethnically diverse countries ultimately face conflict, despite propaganda aimed to hold them together.
  http://www.amerika.org/politics/research-confirms-that-diversity-destroys-social-trust/
  https://www.researchgate.net/publication/335924797_Ethnic_Diversity_and_Social_Trust_A_Narrative_and_Meta-Analytical_Review

“Does ethnic diversity erode social trust? Continued immigration and corresponding growing ethnic diversity have prompted this essential question for modern societies, but few clear answers have been reached in the sprawling literature. Taking this as point of departure, this article reviews the existing literature on the relationship between ethnic diversity and social trust through a narrative review and a meta-analysis of 1,001 estimates from 87 studies. The review clarifies the core concepts, highlights pertinent debates, and tests core claims from the literature on the relationship between ethnic diversity and social trust. Several results stand out from the meta-analysis. We find a statistically significant negative relationship between ethnic diversity and social trust across all studies. The relationship is stronger for trust in neighbors, and when studied in more local contexts. Covariate conditioning generally changes the relationship only slightly. The review concludes by discussing avenues for future research.”

Existential Threats: Too Smart for Our Own Good By Brian Simpson

While a feeding frenzy is being beat up about the illusion of climate change, there are still existential threats that humanity faces that are not being publicly examined because of all the hot air. Like asteroid strikes:
  https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-10-12-nasa-chief-asteroid-strikes-prepare-for-impact.html

“The chief of NASA has warned that the threat of an asteroid impact is all too real. During a conference on the matter of planetary defense, he called for funding and working plans to stop killer asteroids from hitting the U.S. and the rest of Earth. Jim Bridenstine was one of the speakers at the 2019 Planetary Defense Conference. He brought up the critical need for the U.S. to develop credible defenses against asteroids and other cosmic impacts. Without a working planetary defense system, the Chelyabinsk meteor incident of 2013 might repeat itself in the future, potentially over U.S. soil. During the meeting, NASA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and other organizations agreed to hold a planetary defense drill. They considered the potential effects of an asteroid as it approached Earth. “We have to make sure that people understand that this is not about Hollywood, it’s not about the movies,” stated Bridenstine. “This is about ultimately protecting the only planet we know, right now, to host life and that is the planet Earth.”

Our Un-Australian Universities By James Reed

Here is a view that Australian universities are unAustralian, with academics not only being totalitarian, but only loyal to their new class, and increasingly globalist elite:
  https://www.theaustralian.com.au/higher-education/creeping-university-cringe-fails-australia/news-story/762ee3f9b87d8db0bc9cc071113df22e?utm_source=The%20Australian&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=editorial&utm_content=TodaySHeadlines

“The nation’s top universities are “not interested in promoting the study of things Australian” and are “failing in their responsibilities as national institutions”, leading academics and historians have warned. Greg Melleuish, a professor at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Wollongong, has told a parliamentary inquiry that universities are “primarily international in their loyalties” and are becoming “highly authoritarian”. Dr Melleuish’s view was supported on Friday by one of Australia’s leading historians, Stuart Macintyre, a former dean of the Faculty of Arts at Melbourne University, who told The Weekend Australian that universities should “pay some regard to their national responsibilities”. And Flinders University English professor Robert Phiddian said international scholarship was ranked more highly than local scholarship. The role played by the higher education sector in framing Australian identity and democracy will be examined by a Senate inquiry. The committee’s deputy chair, Amanda Stoker, warned that identity politics and postmodernism had “shamed” ordinary people into abandoning the political centre ground. She said there was merit to the argument that “academic disdain” for Australian culture and identity had contributed to minimising the study of Australian history and resulted in a diminished sense of national pride within the university sector.

On Being a Rapist in the UK By Richard Miller (London)

In the UK, as is now well-known to all outside the UK, thousands of white children were groomed, raped and forced into prostitution at the point of a gun, some children being raped by up to 500 men. The authorities turned a blind eye to this for years, because well … racism … Now, if you are white male you can go to gaol for even touches to a female, because your non-sexual touches will be constructed as sexual assault:
  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7557947/Shy-awkward-student-19-faces-JAIL-sex-assault-conviction.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailUK

“A 'shy and awkward' student is facing jail after he touched a teenager 'in an attempt to befriend her.' Jamie Griffiths, 19, Googled 'how to make a friend' then came into contact with the 17-year-old during two attempts to engage her in conversation. The victim burst into tears during the second encounter and went to police with her mother, claiming Griffiths 'would have touched her breast had she not moved away'. She claimed her school work suffered as a result of the contact, leaving her unable to sit her mock exams and apply to Oxford University. Griffiths, who lives with his parents and now studies at Durham University, denied two charges of sexual assault, claiming he was 'shy, anxious and awkward'. He said he had 'clumsily' approached the girl in an attempt 'to make a friend but the words didn't come out.' Griffiths was convicted at Manchester Magistrates' Court and will be sentenced later this month. The offence carries a maximum sentence of ten years jail if dealt with at a crown court and he faces being ordered to sign the Sex Offender Register.

Used as Speed Humps or Starved to Death? That is the Question By James Reed

Hey man, cool it, people will think that you’re crazy, a fellow protester said to me at the Melbourne climate protests. Yes, being pathologically lonely and bored I decided to have a day trip and meet some furry people. It was fun jumping up and down and screaming, until I started to get pains in my chest. The same guy said: hey man if you keep that up you are going to have a heart attack and maybe be the first person here to die as a climate hero! No, it was just dehydration, and after a drink from the fountain (well ducks drink it so it must be good) I was off again, until the police said that I needed to stop ranting because I was scaring shoppers. Did I get on YouTube? No, didn’t make it. Sigh.

The big question though is whether protesters who block roads and hold up the flow of commerce should be made into road humps or starved to death in gaol (leaving aside the possibility in both cases of being eaten alive by giant rats)?

Venezuelan is Showing the Way on Medical Advancements! By Michael Ferguson

Look, we will be in the same situation soon. Have you tried to see a doctor, only to find them all booked up, and when you do get in, they dismiss your pains, those pins and needles sensations in your toes, write a prescription for some proton potion and send you out to hustle in then, the next billable patient? Well over in Venezuela, some people think that they have the answer to this problem:
  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7549571/Venezuelans-turn-shamans-spiritual-healers-treatment-amid-shortage-critical-medicine.html

“A chronic medicine shortage in Venezuela is seeing more people turn to alternative medicine for treatment. It is a move that could put thousands of chronically-ill people in the crisis-wracked South American nation at risk of dying. However, with Venezuela's chronic medicine shortages and hyperinflation there seems to be little choice for those desperately in need of treatment. Humanitarian aid in recent months has led to a small improvement in the availability of medical supplies - but those working in the sector say shortages continue to plague the health-care system. The country's pharmacists' federation say pharmacies and hospitals have on average only about 20 per cent of the medicine stock needed. And as a result Venezuela's opposition parties say some 300,000 chronically ill people are in danger of dying from the shortages of medicines. All across Venezuela, but particularly in poor areas like Petare, patients cannot hope to afford the price of medicines that due to the economic crisis, have become exceedingly rare and expensive. And so they are looking to alternatives for treatment.”

Mexican Battles; Catholics Vs Rampaging Pro-Abortion Feminists By Charles Taylor

Life in the post-apocalypse of America is certainly entertaining, and nobody can claim to be bored. Terrified?  Yes, terrified, but never bored. Consider:
  https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/mexican-catholics-defend-churches-against-pro-abortion-feminists-shouting-viva-cristo-rey

“Groups of pro-abortion feminists in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and several other Mexican cities rampaged through the streets on Sunday in a pro-abortion “march” last Saturday that included attempts to set churches and government buildings on fire, spray-painting of graffiti, vandalism, and attacks on bystanders, including reporters. However, in Guadalajara and Mexico City, Catholics responded to the call to line up in front of their churches to protect them from the vandalism that churches have suffered in previous marches by feminists. The Catholics held banners of Our Lady of Guadalupe and chanted “Viva Cristo Rey,” in imitation of the Cristeros, who defended the Catholic faith from government oppression in the 1920s. In Guadalajara, hundreds of Catholics lined up around the city’s cathedral to protect it from the marchers, and no damage was inflicted on the building, despite the fact that the marchers’ rout took them directly next to the building. In Mexico City, the women tried to set fire to both the gates of the city’s cathedral and the national Chamber of Commerce building. They spray-painted graffiti on sculptures on the Paseo de la Reforma (the city’s main avenue), as well as on the national Government Palace, on walls of businesses, parts of the subway, and on sidewalks.  They chanted, “Abortion yes, abortion no, that is something I decide!” and held signs demanding “legal, safe, and free abortion.”

Too Embarrassed to Pee? Well, Embrace the Diversity (and That’s Poetry!) By Mrs Vera West

It seems that all social advances, such as transgender toilets, which is the modern West’s counter to Russian and Chinese advancement in boring things like missile and space technology, have a price, which must be met, in the name of diversity:
  https://www.rt.com/uk/470350-unisex-toilets-primary-school/

“Parents of students of a London primary school are complaining that it has introduced gender-neutral toilets without warning and now some girls are too embarrassed to use the facilities, which may potentially harm their health. The Deanesfield Primary School in western London teaches children aged 4-11. When the summer break ended in September, parents of pupils were surprised to find that toilets at the school are now unisex. Some parents complained that their girls would rather endure a full bladder than use a facility they share with boys. “Girls are being forced to hold themselves until they get home which could damage kidneys. My friend's daughter has been holding herself all day because she’s so embarrassed. It’s not fair on the kids really,” one parent told MyLondon news website. The situation is made more difficult by the flawed design of the toilet cubicles, which don’t have floor-to-ceiling walls. This makes peeking quite easy, and indeed, parents say, there have been cases of boys looking over the tops at girls on the toilet. Mail on Sunday says the situation at Deanesfield is far from being an isolated incident. Both primary and secondary schools in the UK are being pressured by advocates of transgender rights to switch to unisex toilets. This can cause all kind of harm to girls uncomfortable with the arrangement, who may skip school, risk dehydration and take other actions to avoid the embarrassment. Stephanie Davies-Arai, from the parent campaign group Transgender Trend, told the Mail some activists trick schools into making the switch by falsely claiming that it was demanded by equality laws.”

Starve the UN to Death! By James Reed

Good news! Good news! The UN is getting cash strapped, as all parasitic institutions come to be:
  https://www.technocracy.news/un-running-out-of-cash-pleads-for-money/

“The United Nations is running a deficit of $230 million, Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned on Monday, and may run out of money by the end of October unless world governments immediately meet their financial obligations. U.S. taxpayers would most likely be hardest hit by any immediate cash injection into the global organization. The United States is by far the U.N.’s biggest financial contributor, providing 22 percent of its operating budget and funding 28 percent of peacekeeping missions, which currently cost $8 billion annually. The next two major contributors are Germany and the U.K. In a letter intended for the 37,000 employees at the U.N. secretariat and obtained by AFP, Guterres said unspecified, “additional stop-gap measures” would have to be taken to ensure salaries and entitilements are met. These might include holding less meetings and cutting back on travel and associated entitlements. “Member States have paid only 70 per cent of the total amount needed for our regular budget operations in 2019. This translates into a cash shortage of $230 million at the end of September. We run the risk of depleting our backup liquidity reserves by the end of the month,” he wrote. Donald Trump has long pushed for reform of the U.N. and just last week warned the “future does not belong to globalists” in a warning to the organization’s leaders: In December 2017 Nikki Haley, the then United States Ambassador to the organization, announced the federal government had reduced its contribution to the U.N.’s annual budget by $285 million, as Breitbart News reported.

Billionaire’s Criticisms of Feminism By Mrs Vera West

A lady billionaire has a few harsh things to say about feminism from a liberated rich woman position:
  https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-7544389/Billionaire-matchmaker-Anna-Bey-reveals-NEVER-pays-man-shouldnt-either.html

“Billionaire matchmaker Anna Bey teaches women how to date rich men and create sophisticated impressions in upscale social circles. The London-based etiquette expert, 33, explained why she never pays for a man on a date under any circumstance, saying that women already shoulder the burden of raising children and running the household. The Swedish-born founder of the School of Affluence also pointed out that women spend significant sums on maintaining their appearance, and expressed a wish for society to return to traditional gender roles. Viewers flocked to the comment section in support of Ms Bey's controversial views, with the vast majority echoing her criticism of modern feminism. Ms Bey began by explaining her stance on feminism and her belief that it no longer serves the needs of women. 'I am a traditional feminist who believes that the man has a role, and is not currently fulfilling his role in society,' she in her latest YouTube tutorial. 'I believe that feminism has started to take a direction that is no longer beneficial for women. 'Society is spoiling men - so what's happening now is instead of men [taking weight off] the shoulders of women, women are now offloading men.'

Just the Sort of Kind Hearted Abortionists Needed Today! By Mrs Vera West

I found this story from our friends at Breitbart so bizarre I will simply quote it for your horror. It is a world just around the corner for us too, not merely clown world, but a world a nightmares and chaos, the multiverse of madness.
  https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/10/08/late-term-abortionist-woos-patients-with-post-abortion-service-of-holding-dead-baby/

“The advertising brochure of notorious late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart promises women who abort their babies in their third trimester of pregnancy he will allow them to “hold” their dead babies after they are aborted.
Carhart’s Maryland and Nebraska abortion practices specialize in second- and third-trimester abortions. He says in his brochure and on his website, AbortionClinics.org, his clinics are focused on “kindness, courtesy, justice, love & respect.”

China Ban South Park By Michael Ferguson

Talk about proving a point, an episode of the stupid decadent cartoon, South Park, has been banned by China, because China did not like the spin given on Chinese influence in Hollywood. It shows how hypersensitive the Chinese commos are:
  https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/south-park-banned-chinese-internet-critical-episode-1245783

“After the "Band in China" episode mocked Hollywood for shaping its content to please the Chinese government, Beijing has responded by deleting all clips, episodes and discussions of the Comedy Central show. South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone probably saw this coming, and to their credit, simply didn't care. The most recent episode of South Park, "Band in China," has been generating loads of media attention for its sharp critique of the way Hollywood tends to shape its content to avoid offending Chinese government censors in any way whatsoever. Now, those very same government censors, in the real world, have lashed back at South Park by deleting virtually every clip, episode and online discussion of the show from Chinese streaming services, social media and even fan pages. A cursory perusal through China's highly regulated internet landscape shows the animated series conspicuously absent everywhere it recently had a presence. A search of the Twitter-like social media service Weibo turns up not a single mention of South Park among the billions of past posts. On streaming service Youku, owned by internet giant Alibaba, all links to clips, episodes and even full seasons of the show are now dead.”

Abolish Prisons! Let Criminals Roam Freely! By Charles Taylor

The idea here from the ultra-insane Left is that the disproportional number of coloured criminals shows that the system is racist, so let the people go free! Maybe if it was all blondes and red hairs inside, things would be different, in a socially constructive kind of way:
  https://freebeacon.com/issues/aoc-wants-to-abolish-prisons/?utm_source=Freedom+Mail&utm_campaign=1e2196ee66-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_10_07_08_19_COPY_248&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b5e6e0e9ea-1e2196ee66-46270569

“Congressional firebrand Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) said that America needs to have a "real conversation" about "prison abolition" on Monday morning. Ocasio-Cortez responded to the story of a black man given 10 days in jail for missing jury duty by saying that lawmakers needed to explore the mass release of America's prison population. "Mass incarceration is our American reality," she said in a tweet. "It is a system whose logic evolved from the same lineage as Jim Crow, American apartheid, & slavery. To end it, we have to change. That means we need to have a real conversation about decarceration & prison abolition in this country." "A cage is a cage is a cage. And humans don’t belong in them," she added in a follow-up tweet. "Prison abolition" is a proposal popular with the international far-left, which calls for "deep, structural reforms to how we handle and even think about crime in our country." In general, abolitionists favor abolishing prisons and other systems of punishment, replacing them with "restorative justice" and social welfare programs meant to target the "root causes" of crime. The Democratic Socialists of America, with which Ocasio-Cortez is affiliated, passed a resolution at its 2019 convention establishing a prison-abolition working group.
