I see it now; our friendly neighbourhood terrorists and paedophiles go into their work providers with their job list. What, no jobs for terrorists this week? No children to molest? Look, can you maybe try some other line of work? How about rubbish collection? Working at university, say, in the Arts? Could you even become climate change activists given your background in terrorism, you know in changing peoples’ minds, but trying not to use violence this time?

“Some of Australia's most notorious criminals are set to be given the dole because they're too dangerous to be let free even after their jail terms are up. Under a new scheme, Victoria's most dangerous offenders - including terrorists and paedophiles - will be sent to a detention centre when have served their sentences. Because they are no longer prisoners but cannot be freed into the wider community, they are likely to be eligible for dole payments while staying at the new 10-bed Piper Detention Unit at the Barwon Prison. The $21 million unit will house serious sex and violent offenders who have finished their prison terms but are deemed to pose an unacceptable risk of reoffending if released.”
